i'm sure IT will have a full minute by minute log of every site you've ever visited anyway.
I'm typing this 'in stealth mode' shh.... keep it quiet...
*looks over shoulder*.. right.. all clear..
Had my bi-yearly performance review at work today, you know, face to face thing with my boss.
*looks over shoulder*... right.. all clear...
All going well.. 'Stewart, you've done well etc etc"... then...
"It's been noticed that you seem to have watch related websites on your screen a lot"
  "What me??"

:D :D :D
Hopefully you managed to talk your way out of the corner. A bit of harmless fun, no more and no less.
Now I`m not working I really miss stuff like 'performance reviews'.......a euphemism for getting your arse kicked :D
Paul
Yeah, of course I did :D . I'm a designer, so have a couple of big screens, so I regularly have windows opened all over the place.
Thing is, I generally stay late anyway (like now), so no one can really complain that much.

That's where you should have told your boss, that HE had too much bloody time on his hands  :lol:Originally Posted by europa

My boss doesn't really give two hoots, but i can't believe someone bothered to tell him.
What I'm going to do, is change the wallpaper on my 2nd screen to have in a huge font "I know who you are", and leave a window permanently open on a knife website.
there is always a bastad in every job
Good man, my cfo grassed me up to my inline tit for using too much of iPhone (while half of the office poison themselves with the sh*tsticks)  I put it down to size issues, now what should I use as a screen saver :?: :wink:Originally Posted by europa

My advice,,,get a smartphone ;)
I got reprimanded for exactly the same offence. There was only two of us that worked in this particular area, and as I didn't get on with the other guy (lazy workshy whinger  ) it didn't take Sherlock Holmes to work out who had spilled the beans. I told my boss that I only had a look at TZ-UK whenever my colleague disappeared for a smoke.
Now that's a great idea :DOriginally Posted by europa
Or you could use some downloadable wallpaper of watches as your desktop and then just say it was that.
Make the website the desktop, preferably a full active desktop.
You are not kidding about the arse kicking. We are all waiting to hear about a re-org and performance reviews are being used to get people outOriginally Posted by walkerwek1958

Blood ell John!
Get a nice smartphone and just put it on the desk in front of you. Stealth surfing.
A few posts suggested that others may have dimed him out, but I'm sure this is a standard report from IT to the management quarterly. I refuse to do any banking, job searching, etc at work or on the company computer. I'm sure they keep all the data, and have no faith in thier ability to safeguard it. And I work at a hospital, where not securing patient information could cost millions in fines. Imagine how little protection there is at most places without a need for that level of security. I think keystroke recording is probably standard at most places.
I like the fag break line. How can they argue with that!
Filthy Tabbers.
Presumably this was because they spent a LOT of time on the websites and had been warned first???Originally Posted by Guz
there looking for any excuse to get rid of people these days  , we just had our quarterly mag from GMB advising members not to access web sites for personal use at work, more and more cases are cropping up,where employee's have been sacked fro gross misconduct, they measure all sorts of activeness and over a year it's amazing how much time could be shown being spent on personal surfing, if you leave the page open it looks like you've been on it all day :drunken: .
