    Orsa Sea Angler

    Hi All

Any thoughts on the new Sea Angler from Orsa ?

    Here's the Website link:

    http://www.orsawatchco.com/

Look's pretty nice, and VERY reasonably priced too :D

But I think I'll hold off on buying until the other Dial Designs are revealed.

    Cheers

    ETA 2824-2 Automatic movement
    316L Stainless steel case
Unidirectional rotating bezel with 120 clicks
Domed hardlex mineral crystal (sapphire optional)
    300m/1000ft Water resistant
    8mm Screw down crown
    Date at 6hrs
Super luminova coated hands and dial. Case finish is sand blasted
    Bezel/case back polished.
    22mm lugs with connecting rods
    Weight: 136g
    Dimentions: 45mm wide x 54mm length
    Thickness 16mm
Stainless steel movement holder (my emphasis added)
Cost: $340 usd, plus $25 shipping US & Canada ($45 shipping international)
More dial designs will be available shortly

 Call me crazy, but I kind of like it. The dial is incredibly busy, yet it somehow works
for me esthetically. And I alway like a watch with the crown at 4 o'clock (or 12 o'clock
or 9 o'clock). I love the angler fish "logo" on the back. And a metal movement holder on
a $350 watch - awesome! I seriously want to throw this guy some business.

I think I'd have to have one in hand to see if the dial could actually work. Like I said, I kind
of like the looks, but is it functional?

One major drawback for me is the size. At 45mm across it's some serious landscape on my
6 3/4" wrist. There's not a chance in the world I could carry it off (I can't wear a DN either).

It doesn't look 'different enough". :(

I'd like it a lot more if the bezel was black or silver ... I understand it only comes in orange.

Does anybody think that the hour hand seem to disappear into the dial? Not enough contrast if you ask me.

Looks like more dial/bezel colours are on their way!!! :)

Think I'll wait for a black dial.

    Re Sea Angler:
    Love the hands!
But, to me, the overall appearance of the watch looks odd - the the bezel is so big, & the dial so small, it looks like a little watch inside a bigger one.

ORSA Sea Anglers for the more conservative.....

Hope Mr. Martin Berger doesn't mind ........But I just coudn't wait for the Remaining Dial designs to come out (5 Designs in Total apparently)

Hope he doesn't mind me playing around in PhotoShop with his Stunning Sea-Angler
    .
    .
For Mister Conservative (I must be one, cause this one's my favourite :D ) ...

One for the Slightly more daring....or the Planet Ocean Fan ;)

One for the EVEN MORE Daring ;)

I do agree with YODAHAWK's comment that "....the hour hand seem to disappear into the dial? Not enough contrast if you ask me."

Suspect that lack of Contrast will only be magnified on a Black Dial....That's why I I used Orange Hands for the All-Black Dial Combo because the Hands (especially the Hour Hand) looked like they were were being "Over-powered' by the Indices, as seen in this Mock-Up....

I had overlooked the hour hand ...

I guess that means I agree with you.

You can be so cruel sometimes ...

Actually I was thinking of '70s Zodiac, ... and the crown assembly of Muehle SAR.

I like it! I liked it when it was at prototype stage too.

I suspect this one wasn't designed by committee......

I was referring to the orange (Planet Ocean-wise).

Isn't deniability a wonderful feature of the modern era? :P

I like that a great deal, especially d12go4's first mock up. I also suspect that a diver would be more concerned with the passing of minutes than the passing of hours. (I understand that most divers now would use a dive computer, but it's a retro watch, so allow me some retro thinking!)

I like it and plan on picking one up in 2006. I hope the new dial colors will be available when I'm ready.

I'm right with you Ron. I'm looking to add one in 2006 as well. Perhaps on my Tridente anniversary?

    Happy Holidays,

I love the dial but I think this watch would be too big for my 6 1/2" wrist. I'm more into smaller and lower profile watches these days.

the hands design is identical to the 70' ETERNA-MATIC KONTIKI SUPER
i hope the besel will get a luminouse triangle marker rather than a dot to make the retro look more complete

    regards

    Itai
