Thread: Junghans Max Bill (photo's)

    Re: Junghans Max Bill (photo's)

I wish there was an AD in Australia. I have been keeping my eye out for either the white dialled automatic or the smaller (34mm) mechanical for years now. Only ever seen them in pictures on the web.

This looks interesting if you fancy a punt on a quartz lookalike sold by someone with very limited feedback.....

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Bauhaus-style-wat ... 41582cbebe

Worth a go at BIN £15??

Here is a link to the manufacturer - http://www.bergmann-uhren.de/

I have often visited their site when searching for Bauhaus watches but have never been able to work out how to buy them as it is all in German and a bit confusing. But they seem to do a version of the above watch as an automatic as well.

    These looks nice from them.....

Can any of our German members shed any light on to the movt's they use and how to buy them? Are they really 99euros for an automatic??

    regards

There are a few Max Bills reduced by 30% here.

I looked at the Bergmann website, and I think the case is more like a Speedbird I than a Junghans. Which is very nice indeed, but may not quite fit the (Max) Bill. I'm wearing my Citizen Deluxe in a bid to cure the itch but it ain't working.

BTW, is it just me or do others think "... in the middle of Bau Street" when someone says "Bauhaus"?

I had the same concern that you have about the thickness of the Chronoscope case. That is until I got one.

The whole design tends to make the case appear thinner. It is also very comfortable to wear! Not a good photo but give you some idea

    Compared to another 7750 a Speedbird 1903

    Cheers for the link quoll.

Just out of interest, has anyone had any dealings with five-ways fidelity ltd? this seems to be the new site for pilotswatches.co.uk. they have the Max Bill mechanicals on sale for £295 (roughly Aus$460).

I have and they are reliable. I bought a Glycine from them a few years ago. They have been around for quite a long time and have traded under that name for ages too.

That price will be for the hand wind version I suspect, which is 35mm diameter.
