Like all great objects, it's the stories behind them that make them just that little bit special.
Well done!
Great Story, what goes around etc :)
Now if the person who bought my SMP for £500 on here in 2007 (and hasn't been seen since) would like to sell it back to me i'd be much obliged

Always nice to read a story such as this, enjoy and I hope it never leaves you again.

Now thats a proper watch story. Made me smile Vicky on a day thats not exactly full of them. :)
Cracking story Vicky!
I wish I had a watch that was that special to me!
The closest I have is a Seiko Chrono I bought on my 18th that was worn day in, day out until I started buying watches in earnest a while back. :)
The last watch I would ever sell...
A nice feel good tale for the Monday blues
What a great story, and all because somebody posted a picture 8) 8)
What a small world.
It is a strange effect - watches and cars - I noticed the GT3 I sold in 2007 back on the market last week. Took a lot of self control to let it pass me by...
Great story, shows what a relatively small world of nutters we are!
"I looked with pity not untinged with scorn upon these trivial-minded passers-by"
Such a good tale of rare fortune, circumstance and benevolence that I immediately had to read it again from the start.
Thanks for posting Vicky, first cheery moment of the day.
I really enjoyed reading that - thanks for a great thread. :)
What a great post,, and story.
Wear it in good health.
Chris.
:D
Excellent story - always nice when things turn out in the end! Congrats and keep hold tight this time
What a great story Vicky. So pleased for you.
Oddly a Breitling was my first proper watch as well but mine is still safe and well in my watch box.
That's a cracking story viky. Don't sell her again, that one goes on the box with you!
:-)
Vicky - Thank you for a jolly good read and congratulations on the return of the wonderer!
“ Ford... you're turning into a penguin. Stop it.” HHGTTG
Just warmed the cockles of me heart... :) thanks!
Great story, great ending, legend :D
I read this this morning and it brightened up my crappy Monday morning, great story, genuinely made me smile!
By the time i got half way through this was playing along in the back of my mind as I read :lol:Originally Posted by Tooks

Like many here I'm sure I've read it through a few times now. It's posts like this that make you realise just what a great community of like minded individuals this is. Shame about all the bitching of late I must say but it's gems like this that keeps me reading and contributing. You've made me smile on a dull and boring Monday, thank you :)
Congrats again and do try and keep this one please.
Cheers,
Gary
Great story, congrats on getting the watch back. A similar thing happened with a TL1000s I used to own. :o
You're a tranny too? ;)Originally Posted by Stinkinbadger

Had a little touch of nostalgia with your first love  - thought I had posted my thoughts when I bought that watch a few years ago and here they are:

Just a little comment on the possibility that I might have made a "killing" when I moved it on; I was told several times that it was advertised too cheaply (probably lost a few sales because of it!) I bought cheap, threw a couple of bob getting it refinished and sold it cheap. Good to see you bought it pretty much at what I sold it for and credit to Nilesh for that.
For me that is what the forum should be about! :)
David
:D Great story Vicky.
Life is beautiful and filled with joy :)
Thats a nice story, and and example of the 6 degrees of separation in action!
Enjoy it again and dont flip it...

Very happy for you, great story!
That's a great story, and you must be thrilled to be reunited with that particular watch.
I also like that model, looks so much better with the dive bezel than the compass pattern [yes, I know you don't use it, but still, it looks nicer 8) ]
Thanks for cheering me up Vicky and congratulations on being reunited with YOUR watch.
Dave.
Thanks guys. Still wearing it and smiling... :)
Cool post,well done :)
Great story Vicky, it made me read it a couple of times.
Will you be bringing this one along to the next NW gathering :)
I tried to contact the guy who bought my Offshore many times via text, calling, email & he's never responded. Had a rant about it once & was told the guy who I sold it to was/is a dealer...
Glad your story had a happy ending Vicky :)
Yes and it will sit proudly alongside the fabulous vintage Tuna that I buy off you. :DOriginally Posted by simonoakey
Pretty please
Dont think they'd look good in the same collection, so I'd best keep the Tuna :DOriginally Posted by Tai Mi Shu
Great story, pleased it worked out well for you
