So are the first 25 some sort of special grade that will make me feel superior and allow me to attempt to sell it at a premium in the SC.
If I didn't already have a SBIII and if I actually needed a GMT hand then this would be a definite purchase. Looks bloody fantastic.
Is there no lume on the ? at 12? Difficult to see.

Simply Stunning!

It doesnt mean they are not independent does it? because whats the point then.Originally Posted by swanbourne
Looks like all the lumes from numbers including blue ones on 24h were removed from the dial plan. Hands are much much better though closer to original SB3. It looks very good and balanced. ..and somehow I start to like the speedbird script there. I dont know... probably too expensive for me...

just wait until you receive all 100 pieces before putting the up for sale Edd. Give me more time to convince my pocket :blackeye:

Look at Eddie's pic, it shows the hour hand at 7 and the GMT at 9am. Standard ETA2893-2 implementation, so GMT hand can be quickset without disturbing timekeeping (an Office GMT).Originally Posted by marda

Dubois Depraz? They modify the 2892 for Tudor but it uses a pushbutton mechanism for adjusting the 12h hand, and like all 12h-quickset 2892s, loses the quickset date via the crown (though in this case, it adds a third button).Originally Posted by swanbourne

Never a realistic option to have the extra button. It shouldn't have been an option for the Tudor either, Rolex has the technology.Originally Posted by andrew

I think he means will it be delivered on a Bond with a twist NATO strap (Sheffield Bond), to match the orange 24-hour hand. And is the 24-hour hand indeed orange?
The Speedbird range are traditionally delivered with a Speedbird strap. The 24 hour hand is indeed orange.Originally Posted by SimonK

I just thought that there´s nothing out there to tickle my fancy
& now boom :?

lovely watch Eddie! :bounce: :bounce:
Has is been asked yet, Why the change from the date at 6 to 3 O'clock? Is it just for looks or was there another reason for it?
I'd guess Eddie used the date wheel supplied with the movement. A date at 6 would need a custom date wheel which might not be easy to get for the movement.Originally Posted by setherd
I played in Photoshop and tried the date at 6 but with the inner 24 hour track, date at 3 gives a better balance (to my eye). Same reason for keeping it black on white, the white gives a better balance with the opposing white 9.Originally Posted by setherd

"Yellah!"
Dear Eddie, I have some money ready for you. Thanking you.
Is this the same case as the SB3?
Best reply on this thread yet!Originally Posted by PipPip
It looks damn cool and I'm so glad you went with the dial script because try and try as I might, I just cannot get on with sterile dials. I'm all over this one - Any hints as to the release date? I'm hoping Monday. 8)
I hope it's not on monday or tuesday. I do have no access to the internet these two days, that would be awful!!
That's the best post in this thread refreshingly honest too and straight to the point :) .Originally Posted by PipPip
Not one for me, as I personally don't get the fascination with GMT hands, and there are already countless options available. There's also still a big gap in the current range (and the marketplace in general) to be filled by a decent military quartz diver.
Any indication on price yet?
I can't see one, my guess (based upon the cost of a SB3, increase in parts costs and the addition of the extra complication) would be around the Ł500 mark.
i would have thought around the 450 mark, maybe more due to fluctuations with the euro etc
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
I think Ł390 - Ł420.
Im hoping Eddie updates his site today or tomorrow, my c.card is ready! :D
standard sbiii is 340 iirc correctly so i think 390 might be a bit optimisticOriginally Posted by gee-whizz

As always the price will be a fair one.
Stay back You salivating dogs :D !What with poor Carol in hospital and Eddie getting his packages in the post i'm amazed he finds time to visit the forums.
Please don't waste your time looking for it to appear on the site this weekend, Carol is home from the hospital for the weekend so I won't be updating the site yet. She's back in hospital for a couple of days from Sunday evening and then hopefully discharged on Tuesday. I plan to close for a few days to take care of her and might find time to update the site then.
Carol usually helps me with packing and whilst I've managed to get all the packing finished, other things have not been done and now I need to play catch-up.

Eddie I didn't know Carol was in the hospital, I hope it isn't anything serious and she is back home with you. Watches can wait take care of her first.
