Looking for ideas; how about this then....
Cheers.
Ladies & Gentlemen
I am in the market for a White Dial watch to compliment my collection. Typically I pick the bigger, sportier models (Rolex/Paneari/Anonimo/Bremont) and I'm considering...
Rolex Daytona/Explorer II
Panerai Daylight Chrono
Jaeger Grand Sport
AP ROO (possibly cream Safari)
... but I'm open to suggestions on this watch as I'd like to have a nice dress watch.
So, at the risk of being bombarded with emotive opinion, I would value the suggestions of the knowledgeable bunch on TZ.
Give me some ideas....?
Thanks in anticipation.
Mark

How about this?
3536-003? Somewhere between white & silver and dress & sport.

Now, that's my kind of watch! I knew this would happen... I'll veer away from dressy towards sporty. Ahhhh! :-)Originally Posted by Nealywheelie

got to be this one to be different
Now that hurts... I had one of these for a long time and sold it a couple of years back in mint condition and have regreted it ever since! Lovely watch and very distinctive. Nice choice.Originally Posted by peter2704

Here's one I used to own....sometimes wish I hadn`t sold it. Maybe it's not big enough but it certainly has wrist presence. I still have the white dial & hands, swapped for a blue Roman before I sold the watch

This is one of my (very few) white-dialled watches:

I think white dialled steel watches are very photogenic but somehow I just don`t get along with them. White dials with gold/bicolour work better IMO.

If you can pull it off then the AP ROO Rubberclad is a beauty, the Safari is even nicer, but more cream than white, as you mention.
Or one of the cheaper alternatives?
However, this here is still my favourite white watch in my collection. ;-)
It's just a classic.
I'm not as think as you drunk I am.
I am loving the seamaster with the leather strap. That's the dress type of wtch I would look for
I think the new Aquatimer with the white dial has something about it, if anything IMHO it is the nicest version of the new AT.

I'll say it again
I agree, but then maybe I'm biased as I've just bought one :lol:Originally Posted by NJH

Omega Great White?
As already suggested I would go with the one that most on TZ UK dislike.....
Excellent resale and a classic design which works very well as a dress/sports watch IMHO.... as very abely demonstrated by Brad Pitt no less.

Nice one Ryan, How are you getting on with selling your AP Royal Oak Chrono BTW, what's it been now, about a year that you have had it up for sale? :wink:Argee1977 Wrote:They're so bad that they have to pay him to wear it, look at the poor guy, looking all around to see if folk are laughing at him
Go vintage!
Nice size, sporty for sure!
A Heuer Autavia 'Jo Siffert'
This early one is soon to be in my sweaty palms, a minter on original full size GF bracelet and with box!
Fantastic bracelet...
Clean, sharp, well balanced face...
Well, it's summer...
Not a dress watch but one of my favourite White dial watches is this one; Pan 225 Slytech Chrono Limited Ed on a special Hornback strap which I had specially made by HK Tan. Out of all the watches I've let go this is the one I wish I regret more than any other.

It's currently away getting a once over just now under warranty, annoyingly it was running at +1 seconds a day without any real fault apart from when it had run out of power, but i am also looking at getting the dial and/or hands changed as well, i like the blue and orange dial so i'll wait and see :D
Another relatively affordable one (pic borrowed from net)
^^^ Lovely, but extremely hard to get hold of.Originally Posted by S.L

Noooo, if your going to get the dial changed then go for the Silver dial option. I've owned two AP Royal Oak Chrono's with the Silver dial and they are stunning, far and away the best dial combo for that watch IMHO.Argee1977 Wrote:It is, the funny thing is i've only owned it for 10 months

I wouldn't mind a Great White, or one of these
Or something a bit dressier:
Is that your own pic? If so, congrats.Originally Posted by Stanford

Thanks Andy, it is my own (watch and picture), probably one of the very few decent ones I've taken :)Originally Posted by andy tims

But I agree with Murph at the end of the day, can't beat a white Exp II:
Fancy a dress watch, fancy pushing the boat out?
Wearing this white faced beauty today.
my choice was Rolex
and Zenith
This is currently my favourite white dialled watch - it gets a lot of wrist time.
JLC Reverso Squadra Hometime
IWC Portuguese would be my choice
What about a Junghans Max Bill Chronoscope?
How about this
A golden oldie .... this watch is my favourite because it is the same age as me .. :D It is also running a bit slow .. and needs a service ... More similarities to it's owner ...
By the way .. Anyone seeing this who offer servicing for these watches are welcome to PM me because as you know it don't come cheap at the AD's ..

I didn't notice anyone mentioning the white Milgauss, so how about that - dressy and sporty at the same time. You should try one on, when I first saw one it didn't really do it for me, but I'm a fan now - see here for a few more pics and comments

I find the Omega Seamaster GMT with white dial to be a stunning watch and also feel the Datejust is a wonderful "simple yet stated" piece.
White faced daytona still does it for me - glad to see you're still looking after mine, mike
