Lovely, and the jubilee looks great too :)
I assume the mis-aligned bezel was deliberate - to wind up the OCD sufferers
Very nice 8)
When you look long into an abyss, the abyss looks long into you.........
VERY nice.
Very nice :thumbright:
I guess that the Jubilee has seen plenty of action.
Very nice indeed.
Afraid I've skipped all of my Rolex homework. So completely ignorant.
When does this one date to? What are the "transitional" bits?
Thanks
Lovely photo by the way, salmonia. Jubilee looks like it'd be fun to keep looking that bright
As far as I know, transitional normally means benefits of the older watch (in this case that would probably be an acrylic crystal & nipple markers) with the benefits of the newer GMTII (which would presumably be a quick-set date). That being the case it would make the watch somewhere around '80-'82?
Of course I am a relative half-wit compared to the experts here so I'm probably completely wrong
Mmmm nipples! Yummy!
Kudos... love the 16753 w nippledial Rolex - not crazy about the jubilee - does look very nice though.
Exactly right!Originally Posted by PeterM

here is a q&d wristshot....
stupid question, but 'nipple dial' - is that referring to the small lume with big gold surround markers? .... just found myself looking at the pic for anything nipple shaped! :D
Not quite - this close up (different watch) shows the markers more clearly and as you can see they are cone shaped (as opposed to be being flat) which is where the dial gets its name from...
Very nice - I love the dial - has a nipplie effect to it. 8)
