Bejeesus!
That's a lot of money, is that their retail price?
Are you ready for this....
A Japanese guy paid... wait for it....
£95000 - yes Ninetry Five Thousand Pounds for a VERTU phone this week in Goldsmiths the Bull RIng - Kerching!
He was after a discontinued Cartier watch too - that was £125k....
That's an awful lot of dosh eh?
Bejeesus!

Yes - he wanted a more expensive one - of which there is only ONE left in the world - Harrods have it...
I saw the pics of it - off The manager there - the most vulgar thing you have ever seen.. lol - the phone - not the manager!
Why didn't he buy the one he wanted? Harrods deliver.Originally Posted by johncoote69

Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
LOl - the one in Harrods got sold i heard - he was messing about for a couple of days.... he's their best customer - by far!
Blimey, I was in there the other day.
I never noticed a Vertu for that price,
otherwise, I would have bought it......
NOT!
Is the Vertu made by THeuer? What is so special about it? Bit ignorant when it comes to phones...

an expensive nokia at the end of the day, well there owned by them at least.
But some of them do look nice, but I couldn't splash several grand on a phone that I would just throw in my pocket.
Yep just a Nokia - and the technology etc is filtering down to Nokias phones - concierge service is fantastic - although having your own private banker and their team on speed dial has the same effect for probably a lot less money.
It's just a matter of time...
I don't understand how they can charge so much* for a phone which will basically be obsolete after 3-5 years. A fine watch will tell the time in 100 years - what will a 'fine' (tasteless) phone do for you even in 10?

*Actually I do - vulgar conspicuous consumption by those with more money than sense...
More money than sense!
Well they had most of the Vertu range reduced in the summer sale at Goldsmiths Kensington, 40-60% off. Doesn't bode well for residuals...
I doubt the buyer is too worried about residuals :DOriginally Posted by SimonConnell
Is ANYONE really impressed by such vulgar displays of personal wealth? Apart from footballers...
I saw the vertu boutique when I was in Dubai last month and I just don't get it, but then my girlfriend thinks I'm mad for spending so much money on 'pointless' things like watches! Didn't realise they were owned by nokia though.
Crass in the extreme! :drunken: The only plus side I can think of is that when it becomes obsolete a fortnight after you’ve bought it you can have the gold and precious stones reclaimed from the case and turned into something nice for the wife!
