    Oven tripping RCD

Wondering if the collective could assist
I bought new unused oven from ebay apparently ex demo
The one it replaced was a plug in sub 3kw single oven - this is 3.5 and there was a 6mm cooker cable in the aperture ( turned off at the board 32 amp mcb)
I wired this into the rear of said oven and all seemed good - set the clock but as soon as I selected any programme it trips the RCD
Seemed to sit happily with just the clock on it was only when I selected a programme I could almost detect the power turning on and it just tripped
I’m try to ascertain if it’s a dodgy oven or the wiring - I’m thinking as it doesn’t trip when it’s turned on it’s pointing to a faulty oven
I’ve removed it for now and plugged the old unit back in for now
    Any pointers would be appreciated
