Saw a chap at work in the canteen, haven't spoken to him in a while and noticed that he had a Rolex Sub on. He told me how he always wanted one and that 28 years ago, just after he got paid, he went into the local watch shop in Cardiff, and bought it for the princely sum of £350, and that he didn't go for the date version cos it was another £50!

He clearly uses it as his tool watch as it is well worn, plexi is badly scratched, but it is totally genuine, never been polished or serviced, but still keeps great time. Managed to take a (not great) pic of it with my iPhone.

When I asked him how much he thought it was worth, he said a "mate" told him it was worth around £700. Now I'm no expert but knowing how hard it is to find a totally genuine, unmolested 5513 with 1 owner and box and papers, I'd imagine it's worth significantly more...!

I said I'd post this up to see what people's views were on it.
