I like the Kith Los Angeles one. (blue bezel silver dial)
    Loved F1's when I was a kid.

Those are drop dead 90’s - or was it 80’s? - classics. Probably a grand each now though?!?

    Those are great!
    1500 dollars is a bit eye-watering though.

Those new Tag F1's do look good. Let's hope now that they've gone to the effort of reproducing them for the collaboration, they decide to broaden out the range to non-LE. I'd be excited to see some more slightly muted colours and a bit of a reduction in price too.

I like them, but yeah £1400 (assuming that before import tax too) is bit steep! Can’t work out if it be reseller galore or not so could get one a good price a bit down the line

  8. #1258

Saw this on Kickstarter, not my normal cup of tea but I quite like it.

Not silly money for something that would be unique iny collection. Hmmmm

No import tax on the £1400. I can see resellers trying to make a big profit but not sure if they’ll succeed.
I like them for nostalgia but my wrist is too big to pull off 35mm and my son is too young to appreciate one.

Personally I don't like the look of those Tags at all, but then I don't like the originals with that bezel style either.

...and once-again Seiko cheaps-out on the bezel insert! A slimmer bezel/wider dial would have been good too. Otherwise some good features, and I like the grey/gold colourway - £1,500 though!

  12. #1262
I'm not sure why anyone would buy the tag for that much when an original is available for a fraction of the cost.

I've owned a few, they're great watches but over a grand? Nah.

Frankly, I’d rather have the swatch fifty fathoms and keep a grand in my pocket

I like the Blue one, and for $299.00 that's a decent price.

I bought the plastic cased originals for £99 and the steel for £199. They were Seiko diver equivalent priced at the time and TAG was actually more of an aspirational brand then than now imho. Another example of the now ludicrous price of watches!

Another article with pictures of the back of the watch , showing the decorated Sellita SW288 movement . Comes in three different dials , with their own names .

Cheap out as in it's not ceramic?

Yep, pet hate. Bezels are the part of a watch likeliest to get damaged, yet a number of brands insist on using fragile materials for inserts like anodized or laquered aluminium, not least Seiko* - yet cheap-as-chips Chinese microbrands can be readily obtained with ceramic bezel inserts.

*I know they use it on a few models.

Yeah it’s quite annoying that Seiko seem to charge through the nose for features other brands offer at often half the price point. The whole hardlex/sapphire thing bothers me.

Loved that, right up to the point where I saw one of my pet peeve details, a 0-60 fixed bezel.
WTF? It's in the Pelagos range, put a proper rotating bezel on that. And it would be near perfect.

It's fixed as it's a Tachymeter scale rated for cycling i.e if it takes a minute to cycle 1 mile/kilometre you're doing 60MPH/KPH on the outer scale. The middle line is to measure the speed if it takes 2 minutes its 30MPH/KPH and the inner line is for me counting how many hours it would take 😂 Anything in between becomes self explanatory.

Sorry, no, I am not talking about the spiral tachy. The external bezel is a simple fixed 0-60 scale. Nothing to do with cycling. And a poor detail, imho

I mean it kinda makes sense since there are no minute markings on the dial, guess they wanted to put them somewhere?

Sorry. Yes - see what you mean. I was trying to show that I had stayed awake during the 30 minute online presentation by the Tudor training department yesterday evening......

Interesting to have it as a Pelagos and not a black bay chrono.

    Flat sapphire for aero??

Yes flat Sapphire crystal for aero as you say (which reminds me I've got a bag of mint Aero bubbles in the car!) carbon composite case and titanium case back all to be as light as possible.

I suppose that they already had the FXD cases prepared with the Alinghi FXD so made sense to stick Pelagos rather than Black Bay. £4560 RRP

It's a great looking watch IMHO

In common with others I wish they'd stop dicking-about with LEs and do a proper Pelagos chrono - FXD or not - no BS, just a dive-style bezel and as uncluttered as possible - that could tempt me to buy 'Baby's First Tudor'...

A little more left field - love the look of the new Kollokium Projekt 1 - CHF2,660 - given the sheer amount of work that's gone into, its originality, plus the not-entirely-crap La Joux-Perret G101 movement, this looks promising...

Love it! Particularly the "Oh sod it" translation on the case back! The dial is spectacular.

And I do love how literally they've taken the term 'box sapphire' in order to show it off.

Obviously, a hugely 'Marmite' watch, but I really admire their willingness to do something different and interesting, and without entirely sacrificing functionality.

I really like that Project 1. Particularly the way the dial texture forms the hour markers.

I think they’re great but only if they didn’t say ‘Kith’ and were £500.

I do quite like the design of this:

    https://www.venezianico.com/products...eid=9d016ff257

But really, they do seem to be over-egging the moon landing connection, which as far as I can see is limited to having the same basic movement as a watch that actually did go to the moon. So what? I'm tempted to ask.

Pretty stiff price on it too.

Don't know what to make of this, one thing is for sure though it's not cheap at EUR 3770 (before taxes).

Not something you’d want to wear every day, but very cool, none the less. Shame about the price, as at that much it’s not something you’d take a punt on.
