I'm watching a YouTube video right now about backwards compatibility for COD on Xbox Vs PS5. I was about to try grab a PS5 but the better backwards compatibility for Xbox has sealed the deal for me.
I never bothered to pre-order a PS5 so I'm going to be on the hunt after midnight tonight & hopefully snag one , anyone else hoping to get one ? ?

Just had a look to see if they were available. Doesn't look good.
No point in waiting for currys they have none.
Looked on Amazon at 12.02.
Few for £799.
That was the cheapest. They soon went. Then £999 and £1299.
Don’t even want one. Said I would stay up and try and buy a couple for some mates at work.
Next stop. John Lewis at 8.00am.
My sons are going to Curry’s today to pick up their pre-ordered PS5 and we’re told that orders in store would start at 9, whatever that means? As I thought the stores were closed except for pickups.
Is online gaming good enough to not need your own gaming box?
I’m not a gamer but curious what the gap is between these.

What is it ? at first i thought it was one of Eddie’s watches
I FEEL LIKE I'M DIAGONALLY PARKED IN A PARALLEL UNIVERSE
Gaming never got better than Sensible World of Soccer on the Amiga, with a Zip Stick, for me. Mario Kart on the SNES ran it close, but you soon got bored if you weren't Yoshi.
So whats the take on these against the new Xbox ?
My kids imply its more on what your friends already have so they can all join in together.
Who remembers the days of reading computer magazines and typing in the codes written in them , only press ' run ' and find error on a line of txt ?
Managed to order at game at 1pm. Been trying since 8am this morning !
Had to get a game and another pad as the bundles were the only option available.
Pish posh. This is better:

I didn’t manage to get one. I had one in my basket on John Lewis and Amazon but both times it sold out before I could complete the order.
I didn’t even try this time. I have the PS 1-4 and the PSP, I just couldn’t get excited about this one. I will get one, but later when the madness has died down.
Cheers,
Plug
Lots of preorders not turned up yet, my lads arrived about half an hour ago but some of his mates are still waiting and they preordered from Game the same day (announcement day iirc)
He paid extra for express delivery and expected it before 9am!
Had the same happen to me on Game website. In the basket several times but wouldn't let me pay for it. Then got kicked to the back of the queue because I'd used up my 30mins allowance.
i fortunately got a Series x last week which I'm keeping for my two boys for xmas which will be a surprise as they think there aren't any available.
For some previous posters...
SYNTAX ERROR LINE 80
Don't worry if you didn't manage to get a Ps5 or Series x as you could always fall back on this piece of crap as I imagine they'll have plenty left in stock : https://atarivcs.com/

Keep your eyes on Sales Corner. No doubt some enterprising fellows will be along in the near future.
There are online gaming services; Google Stadia and GeForce NOW are 2 services of you wish to read up.
I think these are yet to take off for a number of reasons. Not everyone has a decent enough broadband connection. The price of games are expensive. The graphics quality isn't as good. There is some lag/latency in controls, which no matter how fast your connection is, will always be slower than communicating with a box in the same room.
I'm sure this will take off one day. Just not sure when.
