Maybe I've posted this in the wrong section? Normally when there's a bit of free hospitality on offer I get a better response in the outside world. Or perhaps my little coin pouch is worthless.
Anyhow, offer is still valid if there are any takers.
Hello guys,
I forgot I had this:
As much as I like this so called freebies I'm never going to use it, who uses coin pouches these days?
I don't have full access to SC yet and therefore I would suggest for one of you longstanding respected members of the forum living in the capital to come and collect it from my work place, a not so fashionable casino, to put it on SC. A free drink on the house will be included just as an incentive :-).
Otherwise, hopefully I'm not breaking any major rule, keep the offers coming here and in a day or 2 the higher bidder will get it.
Hopefully Eddie won't mind as it is for his charity.
Thanks
Gab
Or if you have a better suggestion to monetise this for the fundraising please let me know.

You are more than aware we have a sales section and once you gain access, you'll see that is wher we give stuff away, as the Bear Pit is the place we shout at each other.
One of the few rules in Sales Corner, is we can only advertise something we own, so advertising on your behalf is also not allowed
Charitable giving does not make rule breaking acceptable.
The fundraiser will still be active when you get onto SC, so hang on to it. There's no stopping you making a donation without giving something away.
However, nice gesture, however poorly presented.
I did the same kind of thing before I had access to the SC. I got a better response and I guess the relevant difference was that I had Eddie's permission. For some reason not having asked permission really irritates me. You see a lot of it in SC. "Here's a link to the previous thread, I hope so-and-so won't mind." "These are so-and-so's pics, I hope you don't mind mate." If you're stepping on someone else's turf and you're not sure, why not ask then?
Anyway, a nice gesture. That's a good looking item and I'm sure it'll fetch a decent donation to the fundraiser in time.
I can see from the cold reaction that I could have handled it better. I just found that coin pouch while looking for something else and naively thought that someone else in the forum might like it and the proceeds could go to the forum's fundraiser. It'll be back in 3 months or so :-)
I disagree. It's not illegal like using someone's pics without permission. Being legal doesn't make it right. I just think it's poor form and plain laziness if you can't be arsed to go through the trouble of composing your own sales post or even politely asking permission from someone who could be arsed. A well composed sales post with all the pics can easily take a few hours to compose. I think it's just disrespectful to use the whole minute on your sales post like this:
For sale is my XXXX Watch. I'm asking £YYYY
I got this from member ZZZZ in Oct. Here's a link to his sales post with all the information and better pics than I could manage. Hope he doesn't mind.
Hello!
Sorry to resurrect an old one but the time has come when I can finally post in SC.
Can anyone give me an idea about the best way to raise some funds for the fundraiser? An idea about value for the PP coin pouch? Highest bidder over 2 days perhaps?
Thank you all.
In a reverse auction, the buyer puts up a request for a required good or service. Sellers then place bids for the amount they are willing to be paid for the good or service, and at the end of the auction the seller with the lowest amount wins.
I would put it up for a few days to a week as a normal auction. Its worth is as much as someone wants to pay for it.
