Tullamore Dew (not too bad, much better balanced than the last bottle i tried of this a few years ago. Still has rough edges but now they add to the fun rather than the palate equivalent of a nude Noddy Holder jumping into your mouth and starting a fight!)

Old Poultney 18 YO, Isle of Jura and Highland Park not in any order.

Try and get a hold of an 21 YO Old Pulteney - was Whisky Bible Awards 2012: World Whisky of the Year. Got a score of 97.5
I have always loved single malts and TBH, have been a bit snobby about anything blended.
... But... My wife surprised me at Xmas with a bottle of "Old Harry" blended malts she got via Laithwaites wines which is a really, really nice drink.

Both me and me brother like it -several bottles down the line......... And still liking it.
My local Wetherspoons sell it so I guess others will if you just want to try it. It's an interesting mix of tastes which I like but my old man doesn't.
As an aside, for Christmas, I got various bottles including a Triple Wood Laphroiag which I'm drinking now. Wow is all I can say to that - we went to a pub with an inglenook fire burning away on the weekend - that sums up what it smells like. The taste is sweet and smokey. It's an interesting one.
That triple wood is lovely, the quarter cask is what's often in my decanter (it's divine for the price), and the stock is my pub whiskey. Managed to pick up a bottle of the 18yo this summer for £45 which was an utter bargain. Been taking it easy but it's a lovely tipple.
Not managed to find anywhere local that sells the Triple Wood, Quarter Cask is quite hard to find recently sadly!

same here, I really like it. I think it is similar to glenmorangie 10yo.
I got some macallan and lochnagar, both of which are delicious.
If in need, Laphroaig will sell direct - and if you've never had anything from them, prepare for the most OTT packaging known to man.
Can easily get the quarter cask at Waitrose at the moment and for some reason it's cheaper than the 10 year old.
Good deals on Bunnabhain too.
One of my favourites is Talisker 10 year old and the distiller's edition for a treat.

But Asda are doing a lovely 12 YO Signature Balvenie for £16.50 which is half price, don't know how long it lasts but there wasn't many left in my store.
A new tax might see the cost rise by £1 per bottle.

Only one per customer. I had a bottle of the Bowmore for Christmas which was fantastic and well worth getting.
Sorry it looks like they sold out with 15 minutes of them going up on sale.

Getting very into my Old Fashioneds at the moment, so bought some Sainsburys bourbon at half the price of my usual Makers Mark. If I'm going to spoil it with sugar and bitters anyways...
If you've not tried it as of yet give the Tobermory 10/15 YO a go!

It was superb - & now i cant find it anywhere - well not in the airports anyhow :(

Just bought a bottle of Laphroig quarter cask. A bit apprehensive as its my first cask strength, but I'm fond of Islay malts so should be enjoyable.
At the moment, The Glenlivet 18yo, but rather partial to a Tobermory too.
But I cannot drink Laphroaig or Ardbeg - nasty stuff!!
It's non filtered, but only 48% so not going to knock your socks off in the alcohol content. It is however a very full flavour and not for those who don't already appreciate the Laphroaig signature. Personally I think it's divine.
Got lucky last year when I found a bottle of the 18 year old in a supermarket in the Lake District for £45, it's normally £70. Unfortunately they only had one bottle else I would have grabbed several. It's very nice but I am trying to make the bottle last as long as possible.
Did a spring clean at the weekend and there are 31 opened bottles in the cupboard and another couple of boxes in the basement of backups. It's all mostly standard stuff though which you could buy in a bigger off license, supermarket, or duty free. I do need to broaden my horizons a bit, but when you already have favourites it's hard to stray sometimes.
Out of all the Ardbeg i've tried, i still find two stand out for me, the lightly peated Blasda and the standard 10 y.o.

I've yet to try any triple wood Jon. The Whisky Exchange have some and are good to buy from.
My old man kindly bought me a bottle for Christmas. It's not as stinky as the normal 10YO or Quarter Cask. Tis rather nice though - as are all Laphroaig's IMHO.
Johnnie Walker Black Label is £20 at Tesco.

Visiting Islay for the Festival (Feis Ile 2013) this week: Ardbeg, Laphroaig, Lagavulin and Bowmore on the cards. Plus the Maltings.
Been given a bottle of Dewars signature, I will be interesting to try it sober.
I really enjoyed the Laphroaig 10yr that I finished off a few weeks or so ago, how would that compare to an Ardbeg 10yr? Much of a muchness (as I would guess) or distinct enough to warrant a try?
Love the Islay medicinal peatiness, still enjoy a good Speyside as well.
They are very different, but both are good.
