My wife is my boss now and as she wears quartz Gucci's I think the answer is yes. :D
Yes , My boss wears a rolex Sub Copy or a cheap and nasty looking Lorus
My wife is my boss now and as she wears quartz Gucci's I think the answer is yes. :D
Cheers,
Neil.
Yes I do, but my boss makes a shit load more money, has a bigger house, more holidays, and a younger wife and he's double my age
M
Yes, but one of my colleagues has a very nice Tag Monaco bought for him by his millionaire watch collecting brother and I can't top that just yet!
My boss has a more expensive watch.
Frankly: several more expensive watches.
Several 18k watches (speedmaster, Christiaan van der Klaauw, Baume & Mercier vintage).
However, I'm 34 years younger than him, look better and can wear a different watch each day for some months...
Forget the watch, my cufflinks cost a hell of a lot more than my bosses watch
But then he does wear a fake cartier much to my general displeasure.
My boss changes his watches so often it's hard to keep up. He has a real passion for them and amazes me with his indepth knowledge. Actually he spends so much time on various online forums (his favourite is TZ-UK of course) I'm hoping he'll get the sack for his lack of commitment to the Company and when he's down on his luck in this hard recession, unable to make ends meet, with a growing family to support and with a lack of friends who have fallen by the wayside, he will sell me his prized and extensive watch collection for a fraction of its true worth and make me a very happy man indeed!!!!
I must be a right b*****d!!! ................................... wait a minute, I am the boss!!!
“Don’t look back, you’re not heading that way.”
My immediate (female) boss wears some sort of old lorus quartz. Next step up the food chain, my director seems to have more than one watch  . I've seen him wearing a black faced SMP (which I can match) and also some sort white faced chrono - I have no desperate urge to get close enought find out what it may be :blackeye: .
No idea what the MD wears but the FD wears a Sub date.
I've only ever had one boss who wore a more expensive watch than me (not my current one - I hasten to add - he wears some titanium Accurist or Sekonda thingy).
I once worked in a firm of surveyors and the boss got a stainless and gold Rolex for his 40th, technically that would still be more expensive than any of mine - but I wouldn't wear it.
Cheers,
Oh yes.....twice
Boss 1 - Breitling Colt
Boss 2 - Fake Yachtmaster
That'll teach him to be married......could have afforded a real one..
Nobody I have worked with has had any interest in watches - my boss doesn't even wear one. So, by default I can say yes!
My immediate boss wears a bloody awful bi metal effect Rotary so yes. But the guy above him wears a yellow gold Daytona, a Grand Carrera and a Datejust.
My boss has an old Swatch... very few of the honchos wear expensive watches. Flashness has never been encouraged here, possibly because they make so much money.
Yes I do, where I work the only care for ordinary watches such as quartz seikos, certinas and so on.
So just by having my ordinary unitas based flieger I have a more expensive watch than anyone on the department.
Cheers
Anders
Yes, the "nicest" one she has a quartz Gucci (or similar fashion brand), with rotten white leather strap... But caught her more than once staring at my wrist... She's a bit of a snob.
My boss wears a lorus kinetic.....that i gave him
his boss wears a citizen dress watch (qtz).....that i gave him too
both tightwads
john :D :D
My boss switches between one of his two Panerais and a bi-metal Daytona  . My previous boss had two Brietlings including a spectacularly awful Bentley which he claimed he saved Ł1k on by buying it in Iceland (he told everyone in the office this)
I know they sneer at my Seikos, but along their other "opinions" I really couldn't give a damn :P
Also, my current boss drives a 911, the previous a Z4...the look on their faces when i turned up on the first day in my 2CV was glorious :D
More expensive than my line manager, yes.
Although as they're not into watches, I'd suggest that doesn't count! :D
Usually yes, current boss wears a TAG F1 Indy500 which I out trump most days but he's really not 'into' watches I think he got it for christmas one year and only because he is into F1, but knows nothing about cars...no one else in the office has a clue about watches and just don't 'get it'. 8)
Last boss used to wear a retro TAG Heuer SE/L in bling bi-metal, he used to notice my watches but would never admit liking anything as he was a 'I'm considerabley richer than you' type.
It's watch-heaven around where I work, so no. They're all Hublot, Daytona, Panerai, Portuguese (the expensive ones). So I don't attract any attention with a Breitling.
When I worked, I had the best watch in the whole department, maybe even company - Council. Sorry if this seems like a boast, but nobody else were into them or had a clue.

GOT...TO...KILL...CAPTAIN STUPID!
Me too :D :POriginally Posted by Puller
The owner of the company i work for is a UBER-WIS. He's got almost everything over 6k... and many of those watches came from me
I'm not as think as you drunk I am.
Not yet my boss wears a rolex sub, but when I get my Bremont I trounce him. Although he does have an Aston as well.
no chance - he wears a Patek Calatrava 5296G. I wish!!
Yes,never seen him with a watch on,so not to difficult really :!:
Most people here wear a more expensive watch than what their wife wears; and she is the ultimate boss - just ask her...... :blackeye:Originally Posted by PCP

My lucky boss loves and wears all of my watches!!!!!!! ??????????????
See next post....
Yes I'm self-employed. :headbang:
Yes, both my bosses where quartz Tags. I give them plenty of stick!
My boss wears a Ł4.99 Casio (Osama Bin Ladin) watch, even on days I forget to put a watch on I consider myself to be wearing a better one...
!!!!! Is that allowed.Originally Posted by Whisper
I doubt if my boss can even tell the time :)
yes, I wear a speedbird and boss wears a seiko (a cheap one)...
We wear the same watches!
Absablumminglutley........my boss wears a quartz Seiko and he is about 6th on the ladder of watch values in our team.
There are 6 of us!
He says one day he might buy an IWC. We work for a German bank.
It is one of my worry, it doesn't feel right wearing a watch more expensive watch than the boss
Yes, he doesn't wear a watch, he asks me when he wants to know the time...
It is but it's not reccomended. I now keep a spare in my desk draw just in case...Originally Posted by drpauljones
I'm the boss, so fine there, however I do have an employee, an economics student from Hong Kong, with a rich dad, he's got, the employee that is;
- 18kt Sub
- 18kt Speedmaster
- Breitling Bentley
- Breitling navitimer
To make things worse;
His dad just got him a Patek for his birthday
He doesn't collect watches according to himself ??@ and he' is always polite and enthausiastic about my watches..... :(
Sometimes I do, and at other times I don't... but seeing as I bought them for her I don't get too hung-up about it.
line manager, Yes
his boss, Yes
big boss/CEO - no hope, he's got a white gold (maybe platinum) patek annual calendar. (Though if i wore all of mine at the same time..... )
When I first joined my firm, my boss noticed my Planet Ocean and was apparently in the market so asked to try it on. He offered to let me try on his Submariner to compare. Which was a strange offer because once I picked up his watch it became immediately obvious that he was wearing a fake Rolex...
If I worried like this I'd never know the time as I'd never wear any of mine!!Originally Posted by kawai
My immediate director does wear different watches occasionally but the best of these is a quartz bi-colour Cartier which is waaay too small. He got a new Seiko chrono (quartz again) last week.
Overall at our place the watch interest is very low.
My colleague who heads up IT was sporting what looked like a Planet Ocean with orange bezel earlier this year and I asked whether it was the 45mm version as it looked bigger than mine. He said that he didn't know the size, it was the only one that he liked on the stall in Phuket! Closer inspection showed it to be a complete POS :pukeleft: - the best thing about it is the orange colour and most of that's worn off now!
Cheers,
Nigel
I don't know - he lives in a completely foreign country - and we don't allow skype calls in the businessOriginally Posted by PCP

As I'm self employed, difficult one to answer.
My co Director is my wife, she is not into watches, but appreciates the IWC I bought in May.
Over the years I have bought her a number of nice watches, but she prefers plain things, guess that is why she married me.
She never liked the Zenith El Primero I bought
Like I said...Originally Posted by boddah
