Thread: 22mm Zulu or Rhino on 20mm lugged watch?

22mm Zulu or Rhino on 20mm lugged watch?

As per the title, will a 22mm band fit a Marathon SAR with 20mm lug width.

The reason I ask is because I saw some pics of the same watch on a Rhino strap that looked wider than the lugs. It may have just been the effect in the photo, so just want to ask the question before I go ordering a 22mm band.

    Thanks!

Yup, it's possible. Might be easier with a bit softer strap like a Nato.

I just ordered a 22mm Rhino from Time Factors so we'll see how it fits when it arrives

    Thanks!

Was there a reason you didn't want 20mm?

I have a 20mm maratac zulu on the SAR now, but feel the extra 2mm width will suit the watch better. Just hope there isn't too much strain on the spring bars - if there is, I won't risk it.

The strain is actually more on the lugs, then the spring bar itself. No worries

I think if there's strain it's going to be on the bars.

My English is not that good. Sorry if I misunderstood.
What I'm trying to say is that the strap sits so tight between then lugs, it cant move and almost doesn't touch the spring bars at all.
Tried to take a picture to explain, but only have a 24mm strap and 20mm lugs available right now so this looks weird, but hopefully you get the point.

CharlieSocks, I understand now. Thanks for the explanation and picture. How does the watch/strap look from the front? Any pics of the front?

    Thanks again.

24mm on 20mm looks really weird, but 22 on 20 and 24 on 22 looks great.
I'm away over the weekend and didn't bring any suitable straps, I'll try to post something after the weekend.

    Cool, I'll try it wet.

Super quick service from Eddie - strap delivered the day after I ordered. By mistake, I ordered the 4 ring instead of 2 ring, so Eddie's going to swap it out for me. Sorry, no pics yet
