    Ana-digi's

Been flirting with the idea of one as a semi beater/grab and go piece.

Only two spring immediately into my mind, Breitling and Omega, but i'm not a lover of either brand. What nice alternatives are there?

Victorinox & Hamilton spring to mind, both good looking & quite a bit cheaper than the ones you mention.

Three posts in without a G Shock suggestion?! Aerospace is the only Ana-Digi on my wish list though.

I like the Breitling ana/digis, but I prefer the Pluton navi models.

I appreciate that with two displays it wont necessarily be a simple looking dial, but as per usual in my watch world, i only want something that is plain looking. Too many features and buttons just grate with me. I have some options now though and some developing ideas

    (Not my photo)

After owning an Aerospace, I went for this and find it a very decent substitute:

    -Titanium
    -Radio controlled timekeeping
-Relatively easy to use functions including setting the hands to different timezones
    -Good citizen after sales service
-Doesn't feel like a cheap watch
-Looks reasonably grown-up as opposed to the plastic g-shock ana-digis which always seem a bit like a teenagers watch to me.

Sorry if it sounds like i'm beating a drum here, but you are describing the volcano black dial Aerospace EVO - when the displays are off they are almost invisible. All functions are operated by the crown, so no buttons. It's slim, light and "stealthy" with the brushed titanium case... go and handle one and see if you can get on with one!

All true, I had a Blue Angels Titanium one, but I went the other way (to a B-1) because my ageing eyes couldn't read the tiny displays...

Also, it's a watch you need to get the manual out for to do many things. Perhaps too many features.

There's a t-touch currently on SC. Looks like one of the earlier dials - less cluttered IMO.

Saw that on the web site at the weekend as I'd been considering the Habring they have in their pre-owned section.

Or the Raymond Weil version or the Hamilton version, the Tag Heuer does look the best out of those (IMO).

OP how about the Chopard Time Attack? Or Bell and Ross (like the BR03)

T-Touch is a good option but not that robust. WR is poor and my beater lost a pusher. Great watch when it works though.

You could always go vintage and get a H556 "pre-Arnie". This one dates from 1984.

Deep Blue have a sale on their Depthmeter Ana-digis at the moment:

I love these- swapped my X-33 for a B-1 recently.

Hmm, well, the more I look most dials are way too busy for my taste. It seems Breitlings Aerospace is visually the most appealing though not a £3k price tag. Even discounted at what 20%? its more than I had I mind to spend. I'll keep looking.

Ahhh... Well what about a Swiss Army Classic XLS MT?

As close to an Aerospace you'll get I'd say. ;)

I have one of those Swiss Army ones in a dark titanium colour. Class and very well made. It's fairly wide but sits low on the wrist and feels as much like a dress as a tool watch.

Gray - That's a Sea Touch in the picture. Different model.

The one on SC is the Gen1 T-Touch. The T-Touch Expert (latest one) is a little larger, has greater WR (100m) and a few other extras.

Had mine for about six years and other than one (expected) battery change, has never let me down. Great watches, and secondhand prices are a steal.

That's the "sister" of the 3 I posted above, same movement with stealthy option (no display) but more expensive!

Slick. I looked at one once, but the lack of backlight turned me away.

    I like this one:

Good movement, backlit, virtually pointless flight timer function but decent alarm, sensible size. And, unusually for Hamilton, an AR-coated sapphire!
...but what do I know; I don't even like watches!

The Tag has a excellent build quality well made bracelet and is a decent size at 43mm ( especially as you are a Panni man) and IMO is a visually very nice timepiece with the cachet that if you look around decent prices can be sourced.I was wearing my "grab and go" version to a formal meeting and dinner last night and it did not look out of place or I did I have a problem with the shirt cuffs.

My favourite is the B1 never liked the Aerospace,X33 or the B&R and some of the so called "tool watches" are IMO ugly lumps G Shock in particular but like all things one mans meat etc.

I think these are the classiest ana-digis, especially as they look like a pure ana with the display off.
