Well done for getting it sorted. 8)
Just a bummer that some toss pots can wreak havoc with anothers' business and cause disdurbance to so many other dependants.

Definately great to have the forum back - I have tried to pm someone & post in the for sale forum but get a 'server error' - Do I need to do something to clear my system down as everyone else can clearly post (?) - Cheers ... Paul

    Re: Forum outage

It's happening way too often these days, the government and agencies should be worried about this more than spending their time with people downloading a song. In my time on the internet i've seen a few sites hit like this and it might look like a prank, but in reality it's organised crime and others trying to get into secure information, or to just cause mayhem.

Pleased to see you're back up. Sadly my lurking days will have to come to an end until I've found 23 more things to comment on in watch talk - the only forum I can enter it seems.

Glad normality has been restored, must say having to browse other watch forum over the last few days confirms how bad they are compared to TZ.

What always amazes me about these malicious attacks is that they are such a waste of obvious talent that could be used to a lot of good. You only live once - why waste it being a tosser?

Is that not the very definition of being a tosser though?

Thanks for getting it sorted Eddie, you're a credit to an otherwise crappy world

I'm still having problems - something to do with lack of bandwidth - but back on now. Thought I was going to have to have a conversation with SWMBO for a minute! :D

    Re: Forum outage

Welcome back... but I suspect all is not well yet, as there are still intermittent 'exceeding bandwidth limit' messages... bloody w***ers.

Unfortunately, it doesn't require a huge amount of 'talent' to do this and will become more prevalent, although tools for preventing or at least mitigating disruption are getting much better (expensive though)...

Anyhow, hopefully they'll leave the site alone and crawl back under the rock they came from...

    Best wishes,
    Der

    Eddie,

Apart from suffering the angst, not being able to connect until today,
Sorry to hear of the attacks on the site, I missed TZ and everybody over the weekend, however I knew there would be a substantial reason for the outage, but at the same time as a true Yorkshireman myself, I had this picture in my mind of you being stubborn-just to face out any perpertrators!

Thanks for getting all of us on line again :D

Good to see it's back and running. Cruising the other forums shows what a great place this is. Hopefully the attack was random and not a vengeful act by one of the recent banned speedposters. Pics of the week is back too almost missed them.

Glad that the forum seems to be up and running okay.

The interruption in access just makes you to appreciate TZ all the more.

Some of the other forums are fine, but they just don't seem to have the same sense of a relaxed and genial, yet well-informed, community that TZ does. Either they are far too uptight and over-managed (WUS) or nice but specialised (Rolex forum).

Long may the bad people (i.e. hackers) stay away!
