Hi,
Welcome to the forum. I wouldn't worry too much about longevity. If you get into the swing of things around here, you won't own it long enough to notice!
Just got registered today,
Doing some research, currently looking to buy one of the following watches:
Tawatec
Marathon GSAR
Casio PRW-1300y (titanium braclet)
SMW
Or something else with tritium vials and the military/diver look.
Am really tempted by the casio because of the functionality, but am a bit worried about the longevity of the watch (more features means more stuff to go wrong).
However, I like the look of the analogue face with the tritium glowing away. Hence the reason for the other watches in my wish list.
Anyother suggestions for my list?

Hi 8)
If your budget can stretch to the CSAR they are fantastic.

Welcome from a long time lurker, recent poster :p
Hi all,
Thank you for the responses, I really enjoyed reading through them.
I had a Marathon TSAR lined up on Ebay but then it got completely kiboshed.
I was Ready to go ahead and get in the auction but I Rang my dad to ask him what he thought and he managed to talk me out of it.
I ended up buying the spare of the watch he reckons is the best watch in the world - so good in fact he bought another one.

Got it for 20 notes
So my plans for a new watch have been binned for the time being.
The TSAR sold for £238.35 not bad in my opinion. Can't say I'm a happy :albino: for not buying it.
Welcome I am a newcomer as well
Welcome friend. Enjoy the ride!

Hello, I have the TaWATec Titanium 300m diver, its a super watch for the price.I particularly love the lume on these, mine has the three coloured version. Comfortable to wear and Tough!
Welcome to the forum
And fantastically large. I grew to think it was ok eventually, but it's a seriously huge and heavy watch. I think the relative scarcity drives prices up too.Originally Posted by andy tims

I don't think, considering my non-existant collection (not for long hopefully) I'm worth a whole thread, so i'll add here that I'm a newbie too. This forum makes for extremely interesting reading, and I've watched (meh) the Precista collection of watches for a while. I'm especially interested in the forthcoming Smiths W10 too. These watches seem to be the best watches around which are priced around an area mere mortals like myself can afford  . Anyway, welcome from sunny Hampshire  .
Hi newbie 2, lol, crunching away those first 25 posts to earn the key to the door!
Welcome !
Personally, I'd be so tempted to go Auto and for one of Eddies PRS 3's or if you don't need a date PRS18a rather than the choices listed (would you really use the function on them or do you just want a nice well built and designed watch?).
It's just a matter of time...
Never worry about the longevity of a Casio!
