very nice and a classic - problem is expect to pay upwards of £500 for a half decent original one.

what do you think about seiko 6105?

Whoever does not know how to hit the nail on the head should be asked not to hit it at all.

It's a classic of its time without doubt, and seems to have gained extra desirability from appearances in Apocalypse Now.
I personally love the case and the face but find the strap / bracelet a little narrow, but that's just me.
i have bought this........look at
http://cgi.ebay.it/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... 0158826519
but now i like NEW with an Eddie's NATO strap also
I ordered a xtal and hands from a dealer in Hong Kong and it looks much better provided that the movment is ok.
the 6105 series are classics.everyone should have one at least, however finding an original example seems to be getting harder by the day.there,s an 8110 with my name on it just got to find the bugger now
the watch i post now is simply perfect
all original (dial, crown, movement, insert bezel...)
i prefer to have bought this one than another after market watch
i can confirm that this watch is like an Hummer.
Fear not, they are still out there to be had at reasonable prices. You've just got to put the hours in on ebay, and have a big slice of luck.Originally Posted by no.3

One of Sekio's best....but only the 6105-8xxx, I've never been a fan of the Martin Sheen 6105-811x.
Indeed, and with the conversion to domed sapphire they are great.Originally Posted by pepere13
Because of the large 61** balance and nice gearwork precision of these watches tends to be better than the precision of the current Seiko movements. At least: that's my experience.
Mine is very accurate, stays within a minute a month.
Mine is fairly accurate as wellOriginally Posted by Bernard
I might say a full Spa at Jack Alexyon's certainly helps to do the job.

I CONFIRM
IT IS VERY VERY VERY PERFECT.
THE ASSIMETRIC CASE WITH CROWN AT 4 0'CLOCK IS VERY FASHION
IT IS A WATCH FROM '70 BUT HAS A VERY NICE TECHNOLOGY
1 - AUTO LOCK CROWN
2 - QUICK SET DATE
3 - HACKING
4 - SAPPHIRE CRISTAL
IT IS A SEIKO, BUT IF THE BRAND WAS A SWISS BRAND THE VALUE COULD BE VERY VERY HIGH
I AM PROUD OF IT
I PAY AROUND 290 EURO. SOMETIMES YOU CAN DO GOOD BUSSINESS ON THE WEB IF YOU HAVE TIME FOR SEARCH THE RIGHT PRICE

Mine was serviced as well, by a competent watchmaker, who got nearly all my vintage watches to run with great accuracy (some are too old/have parts that are worn etc.).Originally Posted by pepere13
can't beat a 6105,everybody should own one at least once or at the very least wear one to appreciate them....
Beautiful, beautiful watch....it's just real hard to get a nice specimen these days. I'm not a fan of repro dials and repro specials in general, so I say go original, but you have to pay. Jack at IWW is the man to get one back into shape when you do find one. Being a co-star in apocalyse now is just bonus.
PS. If you can't find one, 6309/6306s are nice and a hell of a lot easier to find. confession: I actually prefer the 6306/6309s..but I'm not selling my 6105 ever. 8)

Now I am after a 6105 because I know it will be at least as good as my 6309 that is a robust, classic, real life diver
Really like the 6105. I've one which is beat up so I'm not afraid of wearing it. :)
Have a few 6309's which worn with a Rhino RAF style, are very comfortable on the wrist.

Of course you could really push the boat out and get an original 62MAS the forrunner of the 6105. Not a pretty though.

Very nice watch - especially case and dial. Almost as nice like an old submariner.
They're icons :-)

The only problem is the lug width - 19 mm as I remember.
Got a question regarding 6105-8110. I've heard that the crown lock usually stops working an that it is hard to get them water proof after that, any truth to this?
I really like the look of the 6105's, but if I bought one I'd like to be able to use it in water.
Thanks,
/michael.
I love mine...the bonus is that it's from my birth month and year...
