    Damas military pocket watch

    Here's a piece I picked up today.

Know nothing about it but it is running well and miltary marked so I had to buy it.

And I don't even collect military watches!

    Anyone know anything more?

    Cheers,
    Neil.

Is it that thze Damas Co. later became Damasko ? :P

    Just kidding, of course. :D

Seriously, I know nothing about the watch. Looks nice, though!
    Cheers,

    Hi Neil

Not much to say that you won't already know. GSTP - ie General Service Timepiece/General Service Temporary Pattern. Plenty of these ordered in the rush before WWII. Lots of makers from high-end down to mid range makers. 15 jewel movements.

Examples found by makers such as Omega, JLC, Frenca, Omega, Damas, Grana, Cyma, Leonidas, Cortebert, Helvetia and more. Would be a nice themed collection to have a GSTP from each of the different makers. I'm estimating there are probably around 15 to 20.

    Cheers

    Thanks Foggy,

I took the back off and was surprised to find a lovely gold coloured movement with geneva striping!

Looks better inside than out.
    Cheers,
    Neil.
