Panerai Pam 190 JLC 8 Day

Is it the Black, Sandwich dial, L-Dial Accented by gorgeous gold hands and sub seconds displayed at 9 o'clock

Or is it the 8 day JLC Movement 45 mm, one of the finest movements put into any Panerai watch.

Is it that you can see through the exhibition case back the 8 day indicator!

Is any watch is better looking!

An 8 day, hand wound JLC movement is used in the PAM190, and it winds up like butter. It features 13¼ lignes, 33 jewels, Côtes de Geneve decoration, bridge with indication of power reserve, burnished blued screws, balance spring adjusted by micrometer screw, swan-neck regulator, double spring barrel, 28,800 alternations/hour, and of course a power reserve of 8 days.

Panerai 190 was launched in 2004 and ceased production in 2006.*

Only 2050 were made. - With the JLC Addition securing it place in Panerai history forever

Rare, Desirable, Top of any Paneristi's list & In My Humble Opinion Perfect in every way

    Yup,

pretty much faultless IMO. If I could swap one thing it would be replacing the "8 days" from the dial with "8 giorni" - it is after all an Italian watch by descent, not a Smiths, nor Hamilton.

Absolutely gorgeous! My only (minor) annoyance is the superfluous 8 days on the dial .. but with such a good looking watch it is forgiven.

It is probably the best implemented power reserve ever.

A beautiful watch and one that combines a great movement with great looks. Perfect :)

    Cheers,

I am surprised that 8-Day power reserves are not more common at the, er better vfm end of the market. I'd rather have that genuinely useful feature than a 'co-axial' or even a coloured/engraved winding rotor. :-)

Lovely watch though reckon a brushed case would look even better.

Possibly but then everyone would say it needed a polished case or a PVD case, we will never win!
    But in the meantime.....It Sunbathes!

Gorgeous, the gold hands will look great with a Dark-Brown strap.

Love the Radiomir case, does it take 27/22 straps?

Yeah agree totally for dressing up, takes a 26 or 27mm strap the taper is personal preference.

    I have a 210, Which would be a similar 45m Radiomir case (?).

I saw some straps from strapmasters which are 25/22, I wonder how it'll look.

Also have you had any problems with the movement?
I've heard of some teething issues with the 233's and 270's where it just stops.

If that watch was a car - it would be a Rolls Royce Phantom.

The nicest watch panerai make IMHO. I've got a PAM175, but this is pure class.

In a "sandwich" dial the white numerals are in fact a separate white layer housed directly beneath the black dial which has the markers cut out, exposing the white layer beneath. You therefore notice the thickness of the outer black surface on close inspection.

More of an "open sandwich" truth be told.

    Notice the shadowing :
