Welcome to the forum, and nice shots, rlk!

AFAIK "Nato" is a style, denoting the strap with the long and short ends like on your watch. They come in all sorts of different makes and qualities. Then there is the "RAF" version without the short end which works like a regular one-piece-strap, just like the American mil-straps. There are also Russian NATO straps with metal eyelets. Actually many NATO straps are made in China.

The sturdier straps after the same NATO pattern (Waterborne, Rhino) are rarely referred to as NATO-straps, however, for some reason. NATO-straps is mostly used as a generic term to denote a thinner quality and a single ring on the short end.

Here is a review of the sturdier strap types:
    http://www.tz-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3056

Eddie's Bond-NATOs (Bond is the distinctive color pattern, not a shape) fall in between ... they are of a wonderful quality. The only thin (actually medium) NATOs I like to wear. Confusingly, I wear a one-piece RAF strap...

Hope that helps. I am confused now and must rest ...
    Cheers,

    Martin ("Crusader")

Welcome to the forum rlk. I've seen your picture on another forum, where would it be?

So what are you going to wear the Traser/H3 on? I rotate mine regularly between an American Beefy mil-strap (with custom-PVD'ed buckle :D ), Eddie's one-piece black Rhino and the 24mm Black Waterborne. I have also seen pictures of it on a Bond, and that looks great, too.

The Beefy, as it is the lightest and no-frills strap matches the overall character of the composite mil-watch best. I usually wear that strap at night (less hardware = less injury to my dear wife :D ). The Rhino is clearly the best looker and quite comfy, while the Waterborne looks very tactical, but gets the hardware away from the underside of the wrist and gives a surprisingly good and firm fit. I usually wear the Rhino in the office, and the Waterborne for outdoor activities.

BTW, what is the month of production of your watch? I have heard on the WUS Pil-Mil Forum that there have been recent product improvements implemented with the P6500, including a somewhat "rubberized" bezel that is easier to grip. ( http://www.watchuseek.com/cgi-bin/anybo ... =2&gV=0&p= )

How do you rate the grippiness of your watch's bezel?
    Cheers,

    Martin ("Crusader")

Sorry to hear that, mine is perfectly spot-on.

The crystal of the Traser/H3/Luminox is fircely difficult to remove, I have read somewhere on the 'net ... must have to do with the high-altitude qualification of the watch. Possibly the crystal is secured inside the case, and not only glued on.

I have a Traser 6502 and like to wear this on a grey 22mm NATO. Bezel is very positive with good 'clicks' and grip. Second hand is bang on on the indexes. Mine attracts a few 'curious glances'. Accuracy is excellent.

    Hi rlk and welcome.

I've got a Precista Ti Luminox (P6506) beastie and it's grand - does exactly what it says on the tin

I've got mine on 22mm rubber (courtesy of Eddie) and very nice it is too.

I'd have bought (and indeed preferred) one of the Precistas if I didn't already have this

Bah...watches are kinda like fancy cameras in a way...they (Eddie excluded) give you 99% of what you want, and leave you to chase the elusive 1% for the rest of your life. It's more of a continous state of being sucked in I'd say! ;)
That's why I'm moving in the direction of erector set (Brit. meccano?) watches. ;)

    Best wishes,
