From my other thread, it seems that Rolex divers are very popular. So here is the poll!

its 40mm thats the perfect size ,they are extremely accurate for an auto watch ,they can be worn every day and they dont lose much value (if you buy pre-owned you can laways sell it basically for what you paided for it ) ,it has heritage !
One Rolex sports should be a staple in every ones collection
I am coming round to the idea. What swung it for me was a story on this or the other forum about some old diver who had a Rolex from the 60s or 70s that was just a beater to him. The bezel had fallen off and he didn't care. Too cool for words.
of course, you should have asked how many
cheers

Everyone should have one - if you look it's in the rules (page 43). :)
I like them well enough but they just don't excite me. I think I would want to own every JLC there is before I got the twitch for a Rolex!
A must have IMO, new/vintage, ND, Sub, SD it doesnt matter which. If you cant decide get more than one
Wait for Mike Wood, you might have to add a thousands option :D
Just the one, a Seadweller. Lately I seem to be getting the Rolex itch again (hardly surprising) and I'm strangely drawn to the Explorer I :?
Cheers

Yes 1 - a Z series SD.
i think for the no's you need two options
no, i dont want one
and no, i havnt got one but it isnt thorugh lack of trying :D
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
As of last weekend, 1. :D
Guilty of a handful.. and madness really, i only wear one at a time FFS  :D
it would be madder would it not if you wore more than two at once?Originally Posted by GraniteQuarry

Just the one at the moment but I can see at leat one more in my future 8)

Me too but the same logic applies regardless of brand or model.Originally Posted by GraniteQuarry
Had an SD, don't miss it. A very nice watch, but not the holy grail after all.
I would love an SD, I tried one on last year along with a Sub and both had a great presence and felt special.
An all time iconic watch and is well up there in my top 5 watch wants! 8)
Just an SD for me. Next one will be a non-diver (GMTIIc or YM).
just the one, a SD.
Yep and don't see that changing anytime soon :D

I suppose I should also do some research into which one to get,and then there is the matter of reaching fifty posts so I can access SC :bounce:
Yep, it was my first quality watch and SD !!! Very happy with it and it's never leaving!!! :P
aye
Respect the past, live the present, protect the future
Just the 1 - 5513. Seemed the nicest to me ............. and then I saw the Red Subs
And not as heavy as most other divers.Originally Posted by jonny

But one day I will probably vote yes, that Sea Dweller Deep Sea is begging me to buy one.
One Submariner 14060, and I intend to keep it that way.
They also say that the road to hell is paved with good intentions
Never owned one and don't want to. I can't stand those ball and stick hands.
I do not own one, have not untill the last year wanted to but now feel the strong pull as I really have starting to like them and get there appeal.
I think it was the image that used to put me off, but now I can see straight past that and see they are fantastic finished quality objects, more expensive than they should be, but desirable to me now
First it was a GMT master 2 with ceramic bezel that when I had a close look made me think WOW this is cool,
I really love the weight and feel of a DSSD.
tried a sub new tonight , amazed how light it was, a bit small as well, but nice when on the wrist. the one I tried had a date and a green bezel. I would prefer black no date.
I think I prefer a SD, not tried one yet and will be hard to as not in AD's now, but seems better size for me, having a sly look at one on a guys wrist in the supermarket couple of days ago, untill he spotted me, I think he thought I could be a mugger (only joking)
Tried a Milgauss GV in a AD at same time, first time for me, I loved it in the pictures, but it was a bit to shiney on the wrist for me, apart from that I loved it, except the price, ouch.
So i expect I will get a rolex in the distant future,
Maybe.
:)
SD dont need another 8)
SD and Tudor Sub (does that count?)
Cheers,
Neil.
A Sub LV but I veer between not caring and caring about public perceptions of the brand/watch. Oh, and that most people probably assume that it's a replica. but it's the best time keeper I've ever had and my old Datejust was my daily beater for 15 years with nary a scratch or missed beat. Currently toying with flogging it for a Bremont Alt1-P and a vintage JLC though. Probably bonkers.
Whilst I like the vintage GMTs, my 98 SD still makes me smile, so the Deep Sea or other Submariner models have never tempted me.
not yet, but someday,hopefully.
probably when the mortgage,s paid off and the kids have grown up.
it,s going to be a long wait, but i think it,ll be worth it
Yes, I got some... but I may have to suggest another category

Perhaps for Mike the new category should be "are you a compulsive obsessive.
Personally everyone should have at least a 5513 and Sub Date and an SD in the box. I would also like to add a DRDS, a Red Sub, a COMEX and a Milsub however there are people out there who believe it necessary to own more than one hence removing the opportunity for others to build their collections - this is in strict contravent of rule 666 - which states that one one person should never own more than one version of the same watch - without being considered a) greedy, or b) a nutter - I hope this clarifies the situation
Jed has breached this rule therefore is being sent to OZ as punishment :D

I agree :D Or perhaps two of each is more acceptable? :?Originally Posted by Andyg

Mike, There are at least 5 Dial varients of the "standard" 1665 that I know of, and that's before you get into bezels and case backs (i know so little :( ) add Tiffany, Cartier and Comex dials and assuming you need 2 of each you would need to have at least ......... 80 different 1665!!.Originally Posted by Mike Wood

Oh!! I get it now ..........:) Well the very best of luck sir.

Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
I like the sub design, but you can find it in other watches, with lower price (and quality), so I don't think that I would want to by a Rolex at that price range. If I had the money, I would go for the SD.
