Thread: saw my first new deep sea in a AD at list.

saw my first new deep sea in a AD at list.

I was in town with the wife and kids this afternoon, looked through a window of a Local AD,

and there was a new Rolex Deep Sea in the window calling to me, I managed to pop in and asked for a closer look as it was the first one I have ever seen in the flesh,

the manager obliged, and I have to say, I do like rolex but not untill now enough to consider the prospect of buying one, this however, would be the one, it was not as huge as i thought it would be, in fact on the wrist it was perfect, great weight and feel, fantastic build, my dream Rolex so far,

The sales person even let me and my five year old son, take it in the backroom in the dark so we could appriciate the blue lume of the dial. (but then i did surprise her by buying a Omega SMP off her, when she thought i was just browsing).

I loved it, but however if I could have afforded to buy it there and then, it would be on my wrist now,

:( I can not afford to do that , much to the relief of my wife, as it is too much for me to spend on one watch.

I do not think this will stay in the window for long, some lucky person with the funds will snap this up.

    :D

If I get 6 numbers tonight and it is there tomorrow, it will be mine, but the chance of that is about the same as me offering up a fresh metorite on SC, that has landed in my garden the same night, but I am optimistic.

PS got a nice watch magazine new 00/24 in WHS, so result.

Hell - the lume on that DS is way better looking than my GMT2C.

    Impressive.

Brand new one's available from Rolexroz, a forum member here at £4999. Wouldn't pay list for one of these.

One question i have about the DSSD, how does it allow the gas to escape, is there any information regarding what system it uses?

I think it would be useful if rolex put this information somewhere on the watch, in large writing so buyers can get the information up front :D

16 seconds, or 'like' 16 seconds?

A short 'test-drive' of the DSSD doesn't go anywhere near allowing anyone to really appreciate it, it has to be worn and experienced. Unless you have stick thin wrists, then it's a no-go!

    +1

And I think it's about time Rolex replaced those pointless numbers on the bezel with ROLEX ROLEX ROLEX all the way round too so the people wearing one can remember exactly what make of watch it is they're wearing.

It would also give the wearer that warm inner feeling feeling of knowing that anyone seeing them wearing one will know the wearer had class because they're clearly wearing a Rolex.
    Best Regards - Peter

I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.

I tried one on in Crouch the local AD here in Cardiff, I agree with the first post, it really is not too big when on the wrist, it just felt superb on.
