You may recall I took this pic:
Today I took one step forwards and took a pic with a microscope:
Now the misterious fabric looks like metal....

When you look long into an abyss, the abyss looks long into you.........

F**king Wow !!!
The quiet revolution goes on. All I knew was that the black part is laser printed.

Doesn,t really look like a printed pattern. In fact, you may see each dot is different....Originally Posted by Chris_in_the_UK

huh
I took some more pics. Now I realise the metal is a result of overexposure.....Now it looks more like a lizard microskin (or should I say a micro lizard skin?)....
Now that is macro, superb.

Cool micro macro photos. Do you have a Rolex to photograph for comparison? Io lend you one if you like. :-)
Nice thread resurrection. ;-)
That lume dot is definitely off centre!
Looks like it may be laser ablated. Those look like focused spots that have been stepped along.
Puzzling thing it's in the lume so may be a laser deposition technique.
Alternatively it may be a micro syringe application of lume, under CNC.
Obviously I know nothing.....
Amazing! Yes this is macro :D
Altered that for you :wink:Originally Posted by edgar23

That must be EDM or laser etching...
The second pic on page 1 does look like spot welding around the edges. Very unusual?
Could it be small pits cut into the base material once the black coating is done, maybe from underneath the bezel (is the black beneath the bezel surface?) We would then be seeing the underside view of the work.

Screen printing with silver paint!
Nice to see some breaking of new ground in the tz photo dept.
