......... were made. I have had this link for ages, but must have forgotten about it.
Though looking again today the site has added a special link to it's Shizukuish-Ishi watch studio.
It is surprising (or not) that their production capacity is only 30,000 units per year.
If you've ten minutes to spare, check it out.
The original site.. http://www.morioka-seiko.co.jp/Eng/index.html
and their new site...... http://www.shizukuishi-watch.com/eng/index.html

What a great site, you can even go on a factory tour...
Great thanks,I love Grand Seikos
That's very impressive.
I had expected the whole process to be carried out by robots; shows how wrong you can be !?
The craftsmanship and care makes me see Grand Seiko in a whole new light. Maybe those high prices are justifiable.
Lots of very interesting information Derek. Thanks.
Thanks!
I reckon those watches are well worth the asking price.
Cheers,
Daddel.

A new facility has been opened at the Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi mentioned in this thread. The old website is still up, but the new one is here: https://www.grand-seiko.com/global-e...o-shizukuishi/
Opened last year, but obviously the public tours are currently suspended.
A short related piece was in a Japanese national newspaper today, including a little about the 48-year old master craftsman adjusting GS hair springs to 0.01mm.

Fantastic, thank you for sharing. One step closer to owning a GS after that!
