I'm sure it has been mentioned before, but there are a couple of very suspect CWC G10's on the bay at the moment. Beware of markings 0552/6644-86 etc.

Contender for the longest thread resurrection ever, but I was searching google and stumbled on this.
This appeared on e-bay tonight
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/114980070...cAAOSwD75hOjZ2
The NSN looks completely wrong, hence my search.
Avoid.
Now reported to e-bay as a fake.

That does not look good with closer inspection but it might pass at a glance, scary
Wow, I had no idea these things got faked! Hard to imagine the financial angle being worthwhile.
Sadly the fakes are getting better and will continue to do so.
The earlier Hamilton W10 / 6BBs have been faked for a while.
The key is also the NSN and issue date on them - the hands are usually wrong as well.
I guess if the sale price is higher than the cost of manufacturing it’s worth while.
I must admit, I’ve taken a fresh look at the dial and hands on the fake and they are wrong. Here is a genuine 1980 GS watch (Fatboy).
Imagine taking a ruler and drawing a line under the bottom of the 11 and 1 numbers and that would be the exact top of the CWC logo. Look at the positioning of the logo on the fake, it is higher.
Also the minute and second hand are not long enough, they only just reach the inside of the minute track instead of the outside of it like on the original. The crown doesn’t look right either.
All in all, it’s a bit of a dogs dinner, but at least we got it pulled from e-bay.
