Re: REVIEW - Omega Planet Ocean

Cheers for the review well done! I've been looking at the PO with orange numbers on the dial, but your excellent pictures made me realise that I'd rather keep my SMP 300 2531.80 :-)

Re: REVIEW - Omega Planet Ocean

I'm seriously considering one of these. From reading around, it seems the 45mm black model is quite popular. Great review by the way.

Re: REVIEW - Omega Planet Ocean

I took a while at an AD yesterday who had pretty much all the combinations, settled on an orange bezel, 42mm on a bracelet and ordered the black rubber strap with orange stitching and deployment clasp as well so I have the best of both, got a fantastic deal on both and cannot wait until they arrive, hopefully for collection on Saturday as it will be my birthday!

    Great review and pics, thanks.

I have a 42mm black Planet Ocean on a bracelet which I think looks very good indeed.

Re: REVIEW - Omega Planet Ocean

    Great review and pictures.

Like everyone else it seems, I hadn't considered this watch, but it looks so good in your pictures.

I even stopped by Goldsmiths yesterday and tried one on.......now i want it even more!

Only trouble is, i can't quite afford it, so will have to keep my eyes out for any coming up in Sales corner.

Re: REVIEW - Omega Planet Ocean

To echo the sentiment, this is a great review. I'm also beginning to appreciate the PO (particularly in orange), although I think my skinny wrists will only tolerate the smaller version!

Re: REVIEW - Omega Planet Ocean

Oh yeah. All were 42mm versions. 45.5 was a bit big on the bracelet. On the strap it seemed to fit better.

42mm would be my choice, everytime.

Re: REVIEW - Omega Planet Ocean

Thanks for the great review. I was using a search engine to check on stem and escapement issues from the past, and among other places it pointed me to your review. Terrific photos.

I'm now back to owning a 45.5 mm standard black with white on bracelet, and agree with your comments. Wonderful watch. Thanks for the review.

Re: REVIEW - Omega Planet Ocean

Fantastic review which was pivotal in my decision to buy a PO. Deviated slightly though in as much as I went for the black bezel with orange numerals - in my opinion they help to 'lift' the second hand. Many thanks for the effort youv'e gone to.

Superb - been thinking of the PO for a while.
But I'm still a big fan of the Railmaster too
Maybe one day I'll come off the fence
    (can't afford both :crybaby: )

Had a black Bond version for a few years and really miss it. Think I am going to go for the new Liquid metal version of the PO.

I have a SMP Chrono Ti, and am wondering if this watch would be something for me.

Re: REVIEW - Omega Planet Ocean

I bought a PO and a tag at the same time, and have hardly worn the tag, the PO feeling very "right" on the wrist

Good write up too. I do prefer the black dial with orange numbers though which is the indecisive version shall we say.
