I should be there for the meet at the pub, but will head off before food as I have about a 1hr45 commute home.
Small chance I'll have to bail, as my job is rather up in the air at the moment, but I think I'll know about that this week.
About 10 days ago, after a conversation with Tekkno, I posted a suggestion for a central London meet on Weds 25th Feb.
The response was great. There seemed lots of people who were interested in meeting up. Lots and lots - but maybe too many? .
Having seen how many people said they'd like to attend I've become a little concerned that the numbers might be difficult to accommodate, so I'd like to get an idea of numbers now. If there really is going to be 25 or so WIS turning up I need to check with the venues whether they can handle that, and certainly book a table at the curry house.
So.... if you are keen to attend, and can commit to be there, please let me know by adding to this thread. Please let me know drinks and / or curry.
The proposed venues are:
6pm - 8.30pm - Dirty Dicks pub (upstairs) - opposite Liverpool Street station
8.30 - 10ish - The Dil Chad curry house around the corner
Thanks
Rich

Skating away on the thin ice of a new day
I can make space for a few drinks and some curry :occasion5:
Pretty pissed off as I was looking forward to this but the way my diary has panned out for that week, I'm going to declare myself out
Hopfully I can get to the next one.
Please take some pictures someone so at least we can enjoy the watches second hand.

BTW - we're looking into changing the venue. We're trying to find somewhere where we can have a private room to ourselves (and also announcing the venue on a public forum was probably not my best idea ever  ). It will be central London, and within a 5 minute walk of a tube station, but as yet it's still to be arranged. Once it's sorted I'll PM everyone on the list with details, ok? :)
So if anyone else is going to be there you need to let me know by adding to this thread - or you won't know where it is :D
I should be able to make the drinks.
That sounds like an eminently sensible idea.
And another for drinks here!
I am OK for both drinks and food Rich....

Rich, awesome line-up and I'd love a return to the Dil Chad (if any of you are dithering - it's good nosh!) but the combination of Vicar Wife and Ash Wednesday means I'll be required to mind the homestead that night, I'm afraid.Originally Posted by Toshi

Should be good at least for drinks :thumbright: Cheers, Gerry
Hi
I'll be working in London next week (typical Northern tourist), work permitting I should be able to make it. Anyone work in the Mayfair area?
Andrew
Provided I can get a night off baby duties, I'll be there for both drinks (although will have to have diet coke as I'll need to drive) & a mild vindaloo! Will confirm as soon as possible.

Vince - will be great to see you if you can make it :)Originally Posted by VinceR

Please note - the venue has changed, so we will not be meeting at Dirty Dicks, and the meal will not be at the Dil Chad (it may not even be curry!). It will be central London however.
Sorry for the cloak and daggers, but with 19 confirmed WIS gathering we felt it better not to make the venue public

Yes, bring some watches, but I wouldn't expect a lot of trading (certainly I won't be letting any of mine go :D ). There'll be lots of drinks, chat and watches, and then those that want to will go for a bite to eat :)
Shame, I've got loads on at the moment. Also the reason I've not been posting here the last couple weeks.
Hope all is well.
Hi Rich,
A change of plans means i can now make the drinks, but not the meal after. So count me in for the pub to start....(please let me know where......).
Cheers,
Jay.
I can't sleep, so thought I'd update the list and let everyone know that the venue is booked & I'll PM everyone details on Monday morning. Looks like it should be a good group :)

Me and Mrs Wildheart will be there for drinks and the Curry after :) Looking forward to meeting you all.

Everyone who has committed to Wednesday night now should have either received a PM from me, or has one waiting for them. It contains the details of the meet etc. Please contact me by PM if you have any questions (or were on the list but didn't receive a PM).
Please do not post anything about the venue up on the forum. Thanks
and here's to a memorable first central London TZ-UK Get Together :)
I have recently joined up and have just posted an "intro". Can you count me in for Wednesday? I'll be there for the drinks but can't confirm just yet for the curry. I have quite a few strap design ideas I would like to discuss.
Jon'.

What a pity - I'll jot down my ideas on straps and contact you seperately. I'll be quicker next time! If anyone drops out please let me know.
Well that was a damned good time - nice to put faces to names, and to see some amazing watches. Thanks to everyone involved.
Yes, great evening. What a nice crowd of people and some beautiful watches !
Thanks again to Toshi and Tekkno for getting the thing arranged, cheers guys :thumbright:
Another big thumbs up from me. Many thanks Toshi and Tekkno for organising a fantastic evening. A great bunch - both the people and the watches. :D
Arrrrgh! That was my old neighbourhood! I worked and lived right near Liverpool Street Station.... would have loved to join if I was still in London.
Maybe I'll be around for the next one.
Cheers,
Jay
Excellent evening, thanks to Toshi and Tekkno for arranging it!

My first "playing with watches" as my wife calls it and what a great way to start. Great to meet everyone and to see some fabulous watches.
Hope that it happens again. Thanks to Toshi and Tekkno for the hard work in getting everyone together.
Cheers,
Steve

Thanks to their owners for bringing them along :)
It's gone to the top of my tool watch list. It's a handsome thing on it's bracelet. 8)
Great to meet all of you.

Another :thumbleft: great to meet you all & see a superb array of watches .. thanks for organising, hopefully next time I'll be able to join you for a curry as well!

thoroughly enjoyable evening last night, with a great turn out and superb venue. Thanks to Toshi and Tekkno :salute:
Stunning array of watches, with plenty that I'd saw for the first time "in the flesh".
Personal highlights (in no partucular order)#
- Sinn - always been a personal fave, after discovering them from this forum. A must have purchase for me in the future, the quality of the pieces look 2nd to none, very much (despite the euro) excellent VFM.
- Precista - several offering from Eddie on display, PRS 50, 20 22 (SB3) and the esteemed Dreadnought. All absolutely fantastic, bowled over by the quality of them and the 50 and Dreadnought have to be seen to be believed. Another must have purchase for me later this year. Can't wait for the PRS-5 passaround to try another for size.
- Seiko - couple of fantastic pieces, the Jay's marine master was a highlight - well documented on this forum as a cracker. IMO more impressive was the orange faced Sumo, the detail and overall quality feel was utterly stunning.
- Toshi's straps - many happy customers proudly displating their straps from Rich, amazingly soft high quality straps that added an extra dimension to some cracking watches. PRS 20 on a 26mm Toshi looks the dogs.
Thanks
Andrew
I'd like to say thanks to Toshi and Tekkno for organising last night and also to all who attended. It was my first TZ-UK GTG and I was a little aprehensive to say the least :)
However the treatment I received from everyone was exceptional, thanks Guys!
It was fantastic to be able to actually see so many fantastic watches 'in the flesh' and also to find that not everyone on the forum is in a different financial universe to myself
Any PICTURES of the evening???
TTPS
Was great meeting up with everybody, had a fab time and was great talking watches, many thanks to Tekkno and Toshi for sorting everthing.
Had a great time at the meet and dinner last night, once again many thanks guys for organising this. :)
