I want to post a reply in sales forum

Hi I'm a new member and wish to reply to a for sale post in the sales forum, I keep getting a message saying I need 50 posts before I can reply? How do I respond online to a seller? PS I've PM'ed seller already.

Welcome Richard,

The 50 posts rule is just about the only rule on this forum and it's to build up a little trust and reputation before entering the sales section of the website. However, you have already found a way around this by sending a PM and this is all you can do until you get stuck in and enjoy the forum for what it's intended... friendly watch banter mixed in with a few other random things!

So why not take the time to introduce yourself properly and enjoy the forum, rather then just abuse it.

Jon, er, thanks for the warm welcome. :? I've followed a number of posts and threads on the site and I'm interested to learn more in this excellent forum. Clearly some of you have been here for some time and understand all the protocols
I own a couple of watches which were my father's and grandfathers, I just love the feeling of using something which has some history and was built with some craftsmanship.
I use a Traser Classic Automatic Pro as an everyday watch, which I love, and I'm looking to start a varied collection of sports, divers and chronographs. My current obsession is with a Panerai 024, but funds won't allow me to take the plunge just yet. (Without selling my soul!). So I'm keen to participate, research different brands, speak to other forum members and will probably ask some daft questions.Ultimately I'm here to get something out AND try and put something back in.

Hi Richard, I'm in the same boat as you (having to amass 50 posts for SC) Since joining in Dec I have purchased 3 watches and a strap (SA mach 4, Breitling seawolf chrono and a MM titanium) so beware :lol: just think what could happen when I get to 50 posts and can do the impulse buy's, everything I have purchased I have done through PM's and the people who I have dealt with (you all know who you are) have been fantastic, just enjoy reading and replying to the posts and learning bits and pieces you never knew and your 50 posts will soon mount up.

Thanks all, I'll bear the tips in mind.

Really delighted by the fantastic response and welcomes, its great to get some opinions before taking the plunge.

Missed out on the Speedbird which Michael was selling by the looks of things which would have been an appropriate start to a collection sourced through this forum.

I'm tempted to start a couple of other threads with a what if I had £x to spend but I'm sure they'd run and run.

I've spent an absolute fortune since joining here whether it be on watches in Sales corner or someone posts a nice new watch here in watch talk and i think "My life won't be complete until i own one of those". I'm a more recent member from last year who also got caught with the introduction of the 50 post
limit just after I joined.
I wanted to contact a member about a watch in SC.
Like all things, theres always another around the corner.
In reality I think the 50 post rule is well intentioned & there for the general good :)

Building up a profile of yourself here will help in all sorts of ways.
I've had good ( money can't buy ) advice from pms etc.
