It is the favoured choice of African Despots and Dictators around the world... :P
The fact that it exists and Rolex made it?
The fact that someone has bid on it!?
Or the fact that it hasn't met it's reserve at 27k...!
I mean, c'mon, even if we take the money away from the equation, would anyone here wear it?

Everything scares me about that!

I fully agree with you. This kind of watches is not what you expect from Rolex.
I've already declared that if I win a million or more, I will wear one as my main watch for a year :)
It's just a matter of time...
Goes with this car, I think:
And the list of people who owned this sort of car...
Pol Pot: Mercedes 600 limousine.
Saddam Hussein: Mercedes 560 SEL.
Kim Jong-il: Mercedes S 500.
Robert Mugabe: Mercedes S 600 L Pullman limousine.
Ferdinand Marcos: Mercedes 500 SEL.
Nicolae Ceausescu: Mercedes 600 Pullman Landaulet.
Idi Amin: Mercedes 600 Pullman.
Really ? They have been doing this bling, diamond encrusted stuff for years.Originally Posted by Mark020

I hate it, but each to their own.
Like a lot of manufacturers they do make some hideous watches alongside their more conservative models

Bit of fun as said Rolex does and always have made plenty of bling, I don't know why people get bothered about watches they don't want

I sold my house to buy one and it looks the business on my wrist. When I get that £14 million I am expecting from Nigeria next week I will buy another house and get the ladies version for my wife. I just don't think you guys have any taste.
Big M tried one on a while back and whilst its not for anybody here it was a pretty spectacular watch when you have in your hand. Unfortunately she was about £40k short and had to settle for a dodgy look-a-likey from River Island
Each to their own but if we win the lotto there would be a matching pair of them in the watch box
:D
It's one of those watches that regardless of how long you stare at it, you will never remember what time it says
“Don’t look back, you’re not heading that way.”
And I start like this kind of bling, could wear it
I'd love to walk into a meeting wearing one of those. If I was wealthy enough, I'd buy one just for the reactions it would cause.
Eyes. Bleeding. Must. Lie. Down.
It's hideous; might get away with it in fancy dress but trying to wear it seriously will make anyone look lke a tosser......and a wealthy tosser at that :) .

I saw one of these in my local AD. (At least I think it was the same as the one in the OP but my retinas could only handle so much  )
Unsurprisingly, it's even more gopping in reality :pukeleft:

Would look alright on a nice looking girl. There's loads of similar bling watches like this around, why the fuss, because it's a rolex, the price?
Whats the difference with someone wearing this and someone wearing a 1000's of feet dive/tool watch down the pub ?
If the Asian bloke likes it what is the problem?Originally Posted by tom-hanx

I guess in some locations it would qualify as camouflage...

As for the watch - who cares - if you do not like it don't buy it - simples  But rest assured that Rolex are not the only ones who make this stuff - all the big manufactures do this sort of stuff - have a look at Cartier, AP, Frank Muller, etc, etc.

Whoever does not know how to hit the nail on the head should be asked not to hit it at all.

At least with the rainbow Daytonas:
I can find something to admire, although the watch as a whole is not for me. (It's the grain of the metal within the chronograph registers, it reminds me of the Widmanstätten patterns on the meteorite dials).
The animal print one, though, has no redeeming factors at all for me. But then I wasn't target market anyway.

I can't believe my Sea-Dweller is related to that!! The whole thing scares me.
The windows of the Rolex boutique in marina bay sands in Singapore were full of completely diamond encrusted Rolex, most of which had reserved signs next to them. They certainly aren't to my tastes but they don't look too bad on the right person.
Is this one fake? :D
Love the stones. Just not all together like this. What were they thinking?Originally Posted by RickChard
