    Very custom Seiko

I just got this little beauty back from Randall Benson in the states. Seiko SKX009 with stainless steel bezel insert. All beadblasted with tritium hands and dial. I love it so much!

Like the dial, hands and chapter ring but the bezel insert is just a little too much IMO :)

I think it works. Gives it a nice tool look and to my eyes, appears more "industrial" than a traditional white-on-black bezel insert would be. Cool mod.

I tried it with a white on black insert and it just didnt look right, it was too dark.

    I like that, I like it a lot a lot. :)

I have a Traser, and have been considering the purchase of a 007/009. A seiko with tritium inserts is the best of both worlds,IMHO. How could I contact Randall Benson?

    Like it!!

If you don't mind me asking (or perhaps more accurately, don't mind answering) roughly how much does this sort of modding cost? I'm assuming ball park a similar cost to the original SKX??

Also interested if there were any issues with customs fees / import duty etc and how that gets reconciled with postage insurance values when you're sending a watch overseas to have work done??

Very nice though, as someone else mentioned it doesn't look straightforward Seiko any more.

I xant remember exactly how muchj it was, in the region of $500 including postage and insurance i think. Included in that was servicing and replacing the gaskets as well as the mod work. To assist with customs it was insured for its full value but described as being returned after repair on the customs label, which it was really, and i dont know if i was just lucky or not but i had no charges on it at all.

Cannot make my mind up either way .. although I do like the bezel, not sure about the dial & handset .. but as long as you like it, that's all that matters. Enjoy.

I like it. I wouldn't like to scratch or scuff it though unless it's a beater.

I like it looks like an early Dievas/Traser cross. I had an Unterwasser/Traser special it had the same lum, I really enjoyed it.
