    Trip Advisor

So does anyone here contribute to Trip Advisor?
I did for the first time ever this week after a few days away and a pretty bad experience eating out.
I must admit to feeling a bit guilty about leaving a negative review but feel it was honest and reflected our experience honestly.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

Yep, but if everyone only left reviews when they had a negative experience it wouldn’t be much use. I therefore try and publish my positive experiences too.

I probably will now I've started although it was the experience of poor service, poor food and the bad tum quickstep which was the beginning.

This completely. I also look at what else the reviewers have commented or reviewed, helps to build up a broader view on whether are just the complaining type, or if they have a similar restaurant profile to ourselves & can discover new places.

Holidays I find it invaluable. Their own photos of food, comments etc. I also ask the hotel for menus before I book, as good food is a major part of a holiday for me & do not like a repetitive menu for the second week when all inclusive. Mixed couple of holidays in recent years going small boutique hotels which means fewer restaurants.

This winter we have found a place with still a low number of rooms relative to the sandals type place, but with a decent range of restaurants. Been there before, but I had an allergic reaction to limes & had to hide in the shade, have steroid injections & consume my body weight with allergy tablets. Fingers crossed it doesn’t happen again!

I also find it invaluable for holidays and also look at what else they have reviewed. Saw a one star review of a hotel we are going to stay at. The bloke wasn’t even staying there and he gave them a one star as they wouldn’t let him in the grounds to photograph a rare wild bird!

I use it for posting reviews good, bad, in between.
I always look at any hotels I may be interested in booking and surrounding areas as well.
    Seems to work for me.

    Regards

Knowing how challenging the hospitality business is in general these days , i always try to find something positive to say in any of my reviews even it wasn't that good .
I agree totally with the other people on here who say that we have to give an honest opinion of our experiences ,otherwise it is a pointless exercise .

Good, bad or indifferent it's always worthwhile leaving feedback - either directly or with such sites as TA.
    Best Regards - Peter

I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.
