I submitted a couple of requests for quotes on WF a couple of weeks ago but heard nothing back from them. I even emailed twice to try to find out what was going on but have heard nothing back. No email failure notifications so I'm pretty sure they went though.
Just wondering - has anyone else sold to WF recently? I don't see there being any issue with my account, I've sold a few times to them in the past.

Put through two quotes last week and only got one back. Quote was good and I might take it.
I sold to them a few months ago and have put various quotes through in the last couple of months. I’ve found the quotes to come back almost instantly on some watches, even out of hours…to the point where I suspected they have an automated system.
When I sold to them a few years ago, I had a good experience. However the latest sale I thought they played a bit of a game.
I had quoted for a sale which went out of date by a day by the time I got round to taking my watch into their store. They requoted and (low and behold) it was a couple of hundred lower than the previous quote. They then sent the watch to their service centre and insisted on a £150 service. This was for a watch with no visible marks, keeping excellent time and still under OEM warranty. The very same day it was up on their site and I seriously doubt they did anything with it. In hindsight I should have told them to send it back to me but it was the incremental knocking down of the price that stung me and you end up just accepting because you’ve got so far down the road with the sale.
There is an enormous lack of transparency in the watch industry and always has been. If cost of living is causing you to sell your watch, you want every last bit. Not to be chipped on the agreed price
Same here. Last year I got a Milgauss from someone here who had only just bought it from them 4 or 6 weeks prior and once they received it said it needed polishing and took £150 off the price quoted.Originally Posted by Christian

I would happily buy from them but I despise their purchasing service. Offered me circa £5.4k for my minty / as new Sub with full box, papers, receipt.
Those other Subdial clowns too. They offered me £5.7k.
I hate people getting laid off but if these two shysters went bust and did a WoS tomorrow I wouldn't give a Friar Tuck for the companies.
Another thing I hate about Watchfinder is that they sell you a watch with the world's smallest bracelet. Then you go onto their website and they are selling spare links. Vermin. So they get a watch then dissect it to a bare minimum so they can sell the links too.

I’ve bought a few from them, bought a Titanium Seamaster Heritage from them, turned up watch was losing so much time it was ridiculous, TBF it got dealt with extremely quickly and returned. Tried to p/x a Bremont with them, sent pics and told them it needed a refurb, all the pics showed what it needed, soon as they received it changed offer changed by 600, cited it needed a refurb……. Told them just to send it back, ended up buying the IWC anyway, guess what, turned up needing a refurb! Couldn’t be arsed with them anymore so just requested a refund, still took them 10 days to sort that. Their claim of stringent checks is laughable, I’d love to see their return/issue rate.
They are very ‘hit and miss’ have had a few straight forward purchases from them but more misses unfortunately, as someone has quoted, they are definitely the ‘Car Supermarket’ of the watch world, I’ll have to check whether Arthur Daley is noted as a Director.

I have had similar issues with them over bracelets. I think it's pretty disgraceful.

I received a pathetically low offer on a watch I was going to trade with them recently, went to AMJ Watches instead and got £700 more and some off the watch I was buying. Much more pleasant experience.
I once sent WF photos of a platinum Daytona I was looking to sell.
We agreed a price and they said bring it in.
When I got to the WF office they low balled me and said they ‘thought’ I was selling the platinum
Daytona version with diamond indices - not the version I had with the basic hour markers……
Considering I’d sent them full details of the watch inc photos I did not appreciate their bullshit-

I similar thing happened to me, offering a set amount £4200 watched arrived and I noticed that they changed their offer by around £2k, I thought this is suspect and thought they might just say “offer excepted” and pay me the lowball offer so rang them and they said it’s not the model omega 166.024 I sent? what have you received then? And they say an omega 166.024?? How can you argue with that? Hey that’s fine just return it to me
If you have a decent Rolex to sell- Uk Bullion in Sheffield definitely worth a shout. I’ve sold to them before - no nonsense dealers
