Help me to look like a smartarse - Cyma content.

I just had this from a fellow Riley owner (yes, I have asked for a photo). Any ideas chaps?

HI Alec, I know you are keen on watches.
It is a small Omega ladies' wristwatch with florescent hands and spots by the numerals.
On the back is a small number presumably from Omega 8983-2817, but the interesting bit, it is marked with the broad arrow
    A.T.P.
    49692
Can you tell us anything about it, may be from Tricia's mum who was in WAAF. Cheers David

    ATP = Army Trade Pattern
It will likely be 32mm - 34mm in diameter.
The only thing that I would question is it being an Omega? Never seen one

It should have subsidiary seconds and a white dial

It should have subsidiary seconds and most like a white dial
    Breaking news:

As usual the hands were in the way and I got it totally wrong . It is a Cyma about 1.125 diameter . Photos to follow shortly

Yep Cyma A.T.P. one of the more common issued A.T.P. watches. Contrary to popular belief, A.T.P. were the watches issued to the British Forces for most of WW2 with the WWW being 1945 onwards.

    Good read that, thanks.
Interesting to note that the Cyma was the smallest of the variants, given it is the largest of the WWW watches.

My Riley-owning friend sends his thanks for everyone's input and especially that informative link. He has located the very model in his wife's possession on the photo display.

He may have asked why I said "I'll get back to you" if I claimed that it all came from within my cranium.

At least I can say (again) - " I know people".
