Hi
I’m looking for a new duvet and seem to have gone down a rabbit hole.
I have a duck feather at the moment 13.5 tog and was looking for a replacement. I’ve found one in John Lewis but they also do a duck down one which is twice the amount but supposedly lighter. Not sure if lighter is better. I thought about getting a 9 plus 4.5 tog, not because I will use them for different seasons but though they might stay plumper being two units clipped together.
Anyone else bought one recently
Thanks
Andy

Different make here but yes, wool is really an eye opener.

Wool, it’s the future. They don’t have a tog rating but weight, light, medium and heavy. We bought a heavy weight at first because I like to be wrapped up like an Eskimo with a chill but it was ridiculously hot, bought the light weight and it was perfect all year round.
That’s what ours are.Originally Posted by hughtrimble

We got a Baavet several years ago and have never looked back. Mid-weight is fine no matter how cold it gets and works well into quite warm nights as well.

We've got the Synthetic Soft Touch 3-in-1 13.5 Tog (9+4.5) from John Lewis and it's superb.
Very warm and very light.

As others have said, Baavet!
Go on you tube - type in ‘Rhod Gilbert Bedding’.
He’ll simplify it for you :-)
3 tog all year round 😂
well this tread lead me down a expensive rabbit hole, new Baavet quilt, new devon wool mattress topper , and new bamboo cover & sheet & pillows, hopefully the old night sweats will be easier to deal with and a bit more sleep.
Blimey....for a minute there I thought I'd clicked on Mumsnet......
Keep an eye on the Baavet Baagin Box - you can save a significant amount if you don't mind a bit of wonky stitching which you won't see once it's in the duvet cover.
