I would say fakes and reported as such.
I value your opinion (well some of you at least).
I am on a FB group.
Lately I have seen lots of posts selling items described as clones.
Surely they are fakes as the boxes and items have known makers names on them, from the photos I wouldnt know they where "clones".
I re-read the rules it says sale of clones OK as long as they are declared as such.
I have messaged an admin pointing out its against the law,he says this was the best way that then people didnt get ripped of.
"Should I just suck it up,report it or just leave with no drama"?
It has made me very, very wary, I was conned on ebay before it makes you very distrustful but I didnt expect it in this group.
There are a lot of people who thing its a harmless crime and are OK with it,I seem to be in the minority.
It isnt watches based more EDC type stuff.
Some EDC groups allow clones others don't, I've a habit of leaving the ones that allow clones.

They might be sold as clones initially but eventually down the line someone will pass it off as genuine
I know what a genuine item is, and I know what a fake is. What is a clone?
Just sounds like a different word for fake.
Leave the group if you can’t make them see it …
Two questions for me:
1) Does it have a maker's name on?
2) Was it made by them?
If it's a yes, no, it's a fake and report it.*
*with the exception of, for example, a Seiko watch with an aftermarket Seiko dial.
I'm pretty sure FB don't care about fakes (eBay aren't that bothered either, in my experience, when I've reported fake goods, they've stay up).
If something is marked as a 'clone', it's a fake - A true 'clone' is what comes out of the original makers' factories - All mass produced products are the same as each other, made in the same way, but that's definitely not what the fake apologists mean.
Up to you if you want to report it, but I suspect you'll be wasting your time.
I'd even be wary of that - From a photo, how do you know a watch started life as a Seiko and not some cheap lookalike and has had a Seiko marked dial added?

Breitling Cosmonaute 809 - What's not to like?
I’m not into fake watch and very much dislike the whole industry of counterfeit goods , what sort of group was it a watch group?
I'd just leave any group that normalised selling counterfeit items.
Cheers,
Neil.
Last I looked it was 2 spydercos that looked like spydercos (there is other stuff).
They had the name on the blade and were an a exact copy of a Spyderco along with a exact copy of a Spyderco box.
That is a fake without any doubt.
I already called out one seller last week it didnt go well for me,he kept saying they are clones every time I said fakes.
Clone=exact copy of original, but in this case a clone=fake.
Really, 25,000 posts … One of our hosts watches.

So have you reported it?

You stated you were not familiar with the watch I referenced so I provided you with a link to it.
I asked how would you describe it in the context to this discussion and your comment on the description of a homage….
It’s similar in design to a Rolex 1016, some may say a homage … what would you say ?
Facebook don't give a toss, the only thing you can do is don't buy them
I live near a large Saturday market where nearly everything sold is fakes, clothes, watches, cosmetics , trainers, it's been there for years, the authorities couldn't care less
*with the exception of, for example, a Seiko watch with an aftermarket Seiko dial.
Personally, I'd give it a pass.
Frankenwatches don't pretend to be something they're not.
There's nothing inherently dishonest about them.
Anyone looking for a specific watch would identify one immediately.
