    Pragnells

Picked up my 2004 Submariner following its fourth 5 year service today and mentioned that they had no Omegas on display.

I was told that they were no longer retailing these by the assistant who said he did not know why.

This surprised me as they used to have a comprehensive display and I imagine they sold relatively well. It explains the savage discounting we have seen on the Swatch Group products though.

Fair number of Rolexes on display marked for exhibition only too.

    Its all watch politics.

Rolex and possibly Patek Philippe throwing their weight about.

"If you wish to continue stocking our brand, then you need to do away with other brands!

Pragnells, is undergoing a major refurb, with extended shows rooms to come.

I believe that they have taken over what used to be Frasier Hart.
Which is located less than 100m from the main shop.
Possibly, this is where "other brands" will be housed.

Soon, not to be known as Stratford upon Avon, but Pragnells!!

Is this the reason? My local AD Michael Spiers recently moved into bigger premises next door, but curiously hasn't taken Omega or Tag with it.

They have kept both premises. Once the previous premises have been refurbished and reopened they will stock Omega. But not TAG IIRC.

It may be that there will be an Omega Boutique in the area soon.
I'm only speculating from Berry's (Nottingham) experience.
Berry's stopped selling Omega (not sure if any other Nottingham ADs still do) as there brand was pulled as the Omega Boutique opened up.
Luckily for Berry's though, they run the boutique too.

Similar to Goldsmiths, they now have the Rolex Boutique and the TAG Heuer boutique (but, I think that's shut down) IMHO TH isn't a "big" enough brand to warrant a boutique.

Leicester has by the looks of theri showroom webpage, PP and R boutiques only, same as the Mayfair showroom. The Stratford showroom still lists several other watch brands such as Chopard, Blancpain, Bvlgari and Omega. At least fro now.

I should have mentioned, in my original post, that it was the Stratford showroom from which I picked up my watch

Its a posh looking shop with the bouncer outside dressed like hes attending Henley Reggata.

The S/H shop across te road is very well done and friendly staff.

The best watch shop though is around the corner.

    Yes Ben, it is.

If you down in Exeter and pop in, ask to see the Bar in the downstairs VIP bit, it’s very impressive.

They gave me a mini tour when I was passing, I had not been in for years but I see the guys around town.

The Swatch Group discounting might indeed be related to these changes.

And rightly so. "Who" would be used for the bouncer not the shop. As to the mysterious best watch shop, surely it must be "Tudor World" off Sheep St.

Could be used for either but the shop makes far more sense. Why on Earth would anyone want the bouncer’s name (and the poster is hardly likely to know it anyway)?

I found a photo, they have either gone covert or it was that awful time which I am trying to blot out of my memory.

I should have called them doormen,my mistake.

Same with the Leicester showroom, bug guy, very polite three peice suit, overcoat and a Panama hat. First time I went there in 10 years or som I thought he was landed gentry and a customer
