    Field Watch

    I love wild camping.

Last thread about field watched was 2017... so.

I loved the Deep Blue Titanium Lefty, but they only did 2 limited runs, and I missed out.

I would love some recommendations for a field watch w/ Tritium. Something might have gone under the radar, and I don't want to miss out

Nite, Marathon, Traser and Luminox are the ones that popped in to my head.

If you're on the lookout for a field watch with Tritium, have you checked out Marathon watches? They have some cool options that might just be what you're looking for. They're known for their durability and functionality, perfect for outdoor activities like wild camping.

Another vote for the Nite MX10 here. Had a few watches from Nite over the years and always had good customer service. I passed my MX10 on to my dad in a very sorry, non working state and he sent it away to Nite for a battery and new strap. It came back fully serviced, new crystal and a new strap for the cost of the parts alone.

Not a field watch, but I was very impressed with the Nite Alpha that I had.
Their big flat trit plots look great and are commendably bright.
But Nite can be a little too happy to use black hands on a black dial, which detracts from their legibility, so you need to be careful what model you choose. I think it is the Icon that seems to have the best contrast and legibility, combined with those bigger indices

Nite and GWS are steel though, the OP wants titanium.

    Ahh yes sorry.

I haven’t seen one in years but it looks very similar to the OP’s picture, Tawatec Titan? They pop up on eBay sometimes.

I read his request as recommendations for tritium.

He said he liked the titanium Deep Blue and Nite which is stainless steel, so not necessarily limiting case material.

OP - just after titanium recommendations ?

I've had a couple of the GWS G10 mentioned above and superb watches..although SS they are very light (approx 60g on a Nato from memory) and a really nice bead blasted finish....I love Ti watches and tbh the G10 didn't disappoint with weight or durability....I had a Traser Commander Ti years ago and that was nice but the basic movement wasn't a patch on the uprated Ronda 715 Li in the GWS..and more expensive too...ina utshell I wouldn't discount a decent SS watch if the weight is acceptable

Edit: Ahhhh. I got carried away!

Further edit: OP says he wants Tritium? Not titanium? I’m starting to confuse myself now.

    Yes Tritium.

I missed out on a Seiko Alba Titanium AQPJ403.

I know it's not tritium, but hard to pass up at around £60 Really simple and pretty.

Their moon watches are lovely. Bit outta price for what something could be a beater.

The Ball Master Diver is lush. Oddly though, not many light faces. Not even a cream / white face.

The Deep Blue were only like £300, but I wish it was a ronda 715 and not the 515 so you had dying battery notification.

Pretty much nails the brief! I have one and rather like it.

But with superluminova being what it is these days, I don’t think you can overlook…

The GS Sapphire came to my mind straight away too. The Superluminova on mine was fantastic and easily readable for hours after dark. Admittedly the tritium in my Nite MX10 was better.

Aye, looking for a 2nd hand one now, or even a GSAR. Trying to discern if they are fakes or not.

Might wait until I can access the trade section on the forums, sometime in the future.

Nite MX10 Polar my 2nd choice.

The Nite MX10 Polar is back in stock, but the Lug to Lug is 52mm.

Will be huge on my tiny 6.3 inch wrist.

On the lookout for a Marathon mechanical 2nd hand. This will still be quite a large watch on my wrist.

MWC make several different patterns of G10-style Titanium bodied field watch with Tritium tube indices.

Also this. And this. And this.

They're not a popular brand on here thanks to some unwarranted claims to military history, but I have owned several of their watches (still have one), and the quality is excellent for the low price, and their customer care is excellent IME (replaced a watch FOC after *I* damaged it), so I'd certainly buy again.

    Field Watch

How about the Marathon mid sized diver?

It’s a bit chunky so not exactly under the radar, but I’m sure it is bulletproof, and will have super lume.

But steel not titanium, not sure what difference that makes apart from weight.

There a few 36mm for sale on eBay, but not enough knowledge to tell if they are fake or not.

A number of firearm makers now do a line of watches in a similar vain.
Check out Glock watches if that floats your boat, not sure they ship to the UK though.

Smith & Wesson sell on Amazon, - not all have tritium though.

In addition to Lumiox have a look at Traser watches they do an number of filed watch options
