    Old coins

Last few things of my late father's I need to deal with include a selection of old coins. Some are British, but most are ancient world. They'd all fallen out of their individual sleeves, one of which is marked "Constantine Caesar".
I know not a thing about such stuff. There's an old coin and stamp shop not far from me and was going to take them in there but honestly have no idea if I have three pints or a Range Rover here (suspect the former).
Any forumers expert in such things and able to offer me a view before I trundle them in?

Can you post some pix of the British coins to show types, condition and dates? If low value you could consider donating to your local OXFAM shop? A lady friend bid on some coins at auction last month and when she examined her 'bagful' discovered a half sovereign. The auctioneer hadn't bothered to examine pre-sale.

Friend of mine had a similar challenge and found an app that you can photograph the coins and it will tell you their details and value.

I’m sure Google would identify it.

    Edit. Looks like CoinSnap App.

I was looking through some of my Grandad's old collection recently which I had sat in my draw for probably 30 years. If you just take a photo and hit the Google Lens button, it's amazing what it identified - even on the extremely worn ones that are difficult to see any details on. V.impressive.

Please don't write any off because they are bronze! I used to collect Roman coins and rare ones can be worth thousands. It's a very complex area, so I suggest you get an expert opinion. Mike Vosper is very helpful.

Fair point, there are always exceptions. Definitely worth an experts opinion.
