    Perezscope article in Nov GQ

Just read the José article on an Franken watch achieving £2 million plus at auction. It talks of his single minded approach to both uncover the shady world of very high end fakes whilst also recognising the skill needed to assemble them.

Most recently we read about his scathing review of the Rolex Submariner book released in Oct 24.

Certainly an article that will split opinions in the uber high end world of horological trading.

I like that he is not fazed by the idea of exposing what he sees.
Not everything he does is as clear-cut as he would like us to believe, but the watch industry is so full of non-critical copy and advertorial nonsense that it is refreshing to see someone put forward their own critical views

He's a good guy, I've dealt with him directly a couple of times. He's genuinely calling out bad behaviour from brands, auction houses and collectors

I cant imagine he would be popular in certain circles, especially with those who fuel the hype in vintage pieces for their benefit.

Looking at the prices the watches make AFTER being outed by him, I’d say buyers are about as convinced by his “proof” as I am.
    Or they just don’t care.
I find him quite tiring at times, and confusing, different shots of supposedly identical scratches and patches of wear taken with different cameras at different angles over 10 years apart are not proof of anything, although they are certainly suspicious and entertaining.

The 2915 Speedmaster scandal was however an eye opener.

First i’ve heard of this guy but surely the proof he presents for that Sub looks pretty damning? The marks on the movement are identical…there’s no way that’s not proof of them being the same watch…

Sorry, but a lot of his micro damage evidence is pretty much 100% proof of things. It is simply not possible to get some of those marks in exactly the same place on 2 different watches.

I am here to be amused and I find Perezscope very amusing. As a Greek I hate it that many of these high end sketchy dudes are Greek.
