I'm not a freelance heating engineer, but it always seemed so glamourous somehow - a man alone, a wrench, some micro-bore, in and out before anyone knew it...

    OK, here we go...

Mycroft is the first name of Mycroft Holmes, who was the smarter older brother of Sherlock Holmes.

My younger brother was a detective for many years, and I'm smarter than he is, so...

My avatar is a picture of Mycroft Holmes taken from an early edition of one of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's books.

    So now you know :)

Mine is my name + a poker nickname I picked up after winning a tournament with King Jack (nicknamed kojak) of spades.
It was a name that stuck at the poker tables, so I had a couple of shirts made with Kojak on the cuffs.

Ironically, I am now (at 30) going the way of Telly Savalas up top....

I've followed the Boston Bruins since '92 and Cam Neely was my favourite player. I met him a few years ago and thankfully he was a decent bloke.

The name itself isn't very unique and there are many other Gruntfuttock's on other forums, non of which are me. The icon I use is a character from the Anime Ghost In The Shell (Batou) for no other reason than I had just bought the DVD at the time.

Mindforge, from William Blake's poem, 'London' when he refers to 'mindforg'd manacles', that I have always liked. Sounds pretentious now I write that down....

And my avatar is Blake's own illustration in miniature. He also set his poems to music so really was one of the first multimedia artists.

Mine comes from my other obsession, archeology.

Imbrex is a type of curved clay tile; the romans used them together with flat tegula tiles on roofs.

As a keen amateur archeologist I have spent hours uncovering and recording fragments of these. I suppose to the layman this is not the most interesting of finds, but to the archeologists it’s a clear indication of roman occupation.

    I wish there was.

It is a term we use to describe those with big teeth (mine arent big or remarkable in anyway) we use a slightly more unpleasant version of the same name (where the "teeth" syllable is replaced with a colloquialism for the female reproductive organs) to describe someone you dont like.

i did the age old british thing of being self deprecating by giving myself an insulting name

mwurliinkomeg was the result of not checking the box where I first typed my username. So basically it was a mistake.

Don't really know how it happened especially the 'm' at the beginning and the 'ii' in the middle.

The 'omeg' bit comes from 'Omega' of which I have three and the 'wurli' bit comes from 'Wurlitzer' as in Cinema Organ.

The first 'Wurlitzer' cinema organ installed in a cinema in the uk was in the Picture House (Later Gaumont and then Odeon), Walsall - my home town.

I shall refrain from giving you any more useless information.

I hate it but don't think it's possible to change - or is it?

Mine is a user ID that I've been using for ages, back as far as the days of dial up bulletin boards, does anybody remember them?

It was made up to be humorous and not being imaginative enough to think of something else I've stuck with it.

Can and has caused problems as sometimes people seem to take it at face value, people are wary, on other forums I've been given the 3rd degree and on another watch forum a seller refused to sell me a watch because of my user ID.

One of my favourite movies... (IMBD Link)

Zelig is a 1983 American mockumentary written and directed by Woody Allen, and starring Allen and Mia Farrow. Allen plays Leonard Zelig, a nondescript enigma who, out of his desire to fit in and be liked, takes on the characteristics of strong personalities around him. The film, presented as a documentary, recounts Zelig's intense period of celebrity in the 1920s and includes analysis from present day intellectuals.

The film was photographed and narrated in the style of 1920s black-and-white newsreels, which are interwoven with archival footage from the era and re-enactments of real historical events. Color segments from the present day interview real and fictional personages, including Saul Bellow and Susan Sontag.
