    Thermometer tube 70cms

I know its a long shot - but I'm in the dog house as due to placing the air fryer in front of it, I've blown up the glass tube on an enamel thermometer my wife loves.

The tube is 70cms long and looks very similar to the one below (ours is also french and has the same temp range). Any ideas on where to source a replacement tube ?

If all else fails I'll keep my eyes open for a similar sized barometer thingamajic at next years bootfairs, the aim being to strip the glass tube from it to replace ours.

Yes, its a very large, accurate and easy to read wall hanging thermometer.

The enamel plate is sits upon is 86cms and is adorned with various record temperatures reached in different parts of France over the centuries

Cheapest that I can find is £40.

PS I take it back. I'd forgotten about this offering from Waitrose...link...as I thought it too expensive when first I found it.

Are you going to try to ‘transplant’ the tube?

Wont a replacement have a completely different scale and therefore never be correct?

Yep, its very easily done as its only held in place by two pieces of twisted metal.

As long as the length of the tube and the temperature scale is roughly the same it'll be accurate enough for us. So either of the 2 Pickle B has posted links to will do the job. Being a tight git I'll go for the Amazon offering, which seems to be the same as the waitrose offering but at a far lower price.

We have a central heating controller that gives us a very accurate temperature indication, but I was surprised as to how accurate the glass tube was - that was until it exploded and left a pink Jackson Pollack style stain on the wall. Now I'm going to have to decorate as well, or move some furniture about
