Interesting that United were given a £40 million COVID allowance otherwise they too would’ve failed PSR rules and faced a points deduction .
One of the reasons being that a commercial partner failed which was taken into account , but when Everton offered a similar defence, that was thrown out .
And a £35 million allowance for the part sale of the club to scruffy Jim , which should’ve been paid by the Glazers . It just gets better.

Liverpool looks like they’ve got Zubimendi.

Gordon deal still ongoing, still not sorted the fee situation.

    Great signing if true .
Although I reckon if I played alongside David Silva , the greatest footballing genius to ever grace the pitch , Liverpool would be in for me as well .

Talking of David Silva, Arsenal absolutely walloped Leverkusen in a friendly today but notable was a goal by Trossard for 2-0, scored with such composure and one that I reckon Silva would have been proud of. 1.45 onwards.

Impressive Ryan but if you ever mention Trossard and Silva in the same sentence again , I’ll start to compare Adam Johnson with Thierry Henry .

Anyone noticed the massive shift in this coming season’s Premier League relegation odds? Liverpool and Arsenal are still at 2000/1 and Newcastle still at 150/1 but Man City have been slashed to just 14/1. Do the bookies know something we don’t know yet?

City are also favourites for the title. What the relegation market shows is that either City win their legal battle, lose it and get just a points deduction or lose it and appeal and that takes until the season after.

If the bookies really knew something City would be a much lower price for relegation.

somewhere between a novelty bet and a massive dose of arse covering....... just in case

if it were truly likely, or they thought it might happen, they would be priced around the same level a the 3 promoted clubs

Chelsea signing Neto, with Fabrizio Romano saying that they'll be likely signing more players.

You don't become a billionaire by being stupid, even if Elon Musk is single handedly trying to demonstrate otherwise, but does Boehly actually have a plan with all these signings?

£65m for Solanke is pure madness.

Mad, but the going rate for a proven striker at present to be fair. Watching him last season I said a couple of times I'd like to see him join Spurs. Didn't anticipate that price, but I still think (hope) he'll do a good job - certainly better than Richarlison our previous record signing at £60m a good few years ago!

    Premier League 2024 - 2025

United (Manchester for the sensitive souls) looking for a consistent season, continuing where they left off: Shaw injured, no fit left back, all centre backs bar Evan’s unfit, only recognised central striker injured, new signings injured, a clutch of highly paid players they are looking to get rid of still counting their good fortunes and in the market to pay over the odds for some damn average players like de Ligt.

I can see Ruud back on the team sheet with Wilcox on the left and Sir Jim as a number 8.

Another £9million to Liverpool from the Solanke sale. Good business for Liverpool at least.

De Ligt is a great signing for me.

Still only 24 and the majority of his career is all high level football.

Well I hope so, but it seems both Juventus and Bayen Munich saw something and then changed their minds on de Ligt. Didn't Bayern end up preferring Dier? £60m for two Bayern substitutes and Bayern picked up Dier for buttons.

Arsenal allegedly in for Mudryk. Remember they were gazumped by Chelsea who paid £89m for him.

Apparently Arsenal could get him 18 months later for around £35m!!!

Agreed - in today's market £55m plus add-ons is a touch high but certainly not madness. He's the perfect age, and if he produces for us it'll be money well spent.

So Enzo Fernandez officially goes unscathed by the FA from being openly racist about the French international team, and on top of it gets made the club vice-captain. Can’t say that I’m shocked.

Cavani got a 3 match ban and £100,000 fine by the FA for using a word in his language taken out of context. Nothing taking the knee a few more times won’t fix I suppose.....

Much easier to punish one player than the trouble they might have had if there were a few of them singing it . The PL is well represented by Argentinian players and a few could’ve been dragged in

I watched them today and it's madness.

Basically 2 11s of full internations.

Not sure how it's going to work. Eg. Sterling, Mudryk, Neto all LWs.

Dewsbury Hall, Enzo, Lavia, Caicedo, Ugochukwu, Nkunku and possible Palmer all vieing for 2 spots in the centre of the park.

    Crazy

I heard you met his buyout clause which is fair enough.

He was in the team of the year 22/23.

FIFA world 11 in 2019, UEFA team of the year 2019.

He missed 20 games last year with injuries so probably struggled for form.

    Think he’s a great buy for 45m.

Alternatively, he's absolute garbage, else there would have been a queue of clubs to sign him. The fact Bayern play Eric Dier and have De Ligt on the bench should tell you everything you need to know.

Still, Spurs paid £65m for Dominic Solanke (!) so it's not the worst deal of the summer.

I hope he works out for you but he's a guy who has struggled to score goals for all but one season (last season) and I think £65m is a massive risk based on that. But we shall see.

Zubi staying put is a big blow for Liverpool.

As for Solanke he’s as average as they come, I’d argue below average for me and think it’s a stinker of a signing.

    Not really.

Neither club has real money for the deal, it was a swap deal, dressed up as 2 separate deals so that some shady PSR deal was met. Chelsea could pocket the 34 million straight on the PSR while amortized the other chap over 7 years. Gallagher has to wait for them to do the same deal with Felix

having seen him at Bournemouth in their promotion season as a good, but not breath-taking EFL striker, I was amazed how well he did in the Prem.

Still suspect it might be a 1 season wonder; its been a while since he was a 'next big thing' at Liverpool and I don't quite get the fuss............. certainly not at that price!

Very happy with West Ham's transfer window so far... haven't lost anyone of any consequence as yet and have brought in 6 or 7 players who could all start.

Obviously it'll take a while to get everything working as it should be but it'll be nice to actually have a bit of competition for places. Last season you could name 10 of the starting 11 with absolutely certainty almost every game!

    Interesting...

I'd probably take 4th place now, to be fair, although I think we have the potential to challenge if Solanke, Bergvall and Gray prove to be a good signings. (I have high hopes for Bergvall in particular.)

Would bite your hand off now for 4th (FA Cup would also be nice).

Interesting 1st PL match tonight - a London derby to boot.

One game in and we’ve already seen a leading contender for miss of the season.
