Morning gents. Our 5 year old Frenchie requires surgery and after doing cost analysis it works out cheaper to buy a new dog instead. But we want to make sure it comes from a reputable breeder and is less likely to require expensive vet fees in later life.
In this context can anyone advise resources where to get in touch with reputable breeders? Also recommendations for breeds - good with kids, small to medium sized dog suitable for living in apartments.
Thanks in advance.

I could never give up or put a dog to sleep because it was cheaper to replace it. If my dog required a long, painful course of treatment for a life limiting condition that might be different, but not what you seem to be describing.
I'd also happily sell a watch or three to fund surgery if that was required.

Aren’t April 1st “jokes” supposed to be funny?
Depends on what you see as being funny.
My favourite is one where a resident in Washington state lived in a town near an extinct volcano.
He sneaked up to the top of the volcano at the crack of dawn with a pile of old car tyres which he set ablaze, then drove through the town honking his truck horn shouting "IT'S GONNA BLOW!"
This thread I would rate as good, but the "Bulldog - Shitzu cross" post was real quality.

These ‘jokes’ are often just about being a wind-up rather than being funny.
Breeds like French Bulldogs would be a no go personally, the associated health issues, breeding deformity in for appearance sake, a bit dubious imho really.
I agree but some folks really find them appealing...

The waffle in blue is really worth considering. Google it. Worth a look.
I’m just told Franck that the consensus is he’s ugly. Don’t think he’s all that impressed with you lot.
