Merryhills pub in Oakwood, nr Enfield.
Must have been about 15 or 16 and went in with Air Cadet NCO’s and officers, all in uniform! Can’t remember price of a pint but used to take a fiver, buy a round and get change. Must have been about 1986/7
Double Diamond (I think) in Queens Arms Harrogate Road Chapel Allerton, 16ish , think about 18p ‘73 , full of people from school!

Bittersweet memories as my room mate from first year in uni died last weekend. He was also my bestest pal in school. Has rocked me back a bit, brings ones own mortality into focus.

When I started on the beer you could get 10 pints for £1.00.
I was shocked when the price went up from 2/- a pint to 2/6p and you could only get 8!
I guess it was in the late 60s, and I certainly wasn’t 18 at the time!

I remember it well - 'The Jolly Miller' on Queens Drive, nr West Derby Village sometime around Christmas 1979.
A pint of brown/bitter was around 30-35p IIRC- a half of Higsons best bitter and a bottle of Manns brown ale.
Lovely, and I still choose a dark beer when available.

Higsons p1ss as I fondly remember it. My old man used to bring a bottle of Mackies home for my mum at closing time.
The Musketeer in Banbury. Free as my sister worked behind the bar. Bass bitter. I think the going rate was about 80p a pint at the time.
About 1986… approx 95p or so I think….would've been for a pint of shit lager. No idea what pub.
1983 in the Mountblow bar , can’t remember exactly but definitely under a quid .
1975, a pint of Double Diamond for 22p.
The Concorde, local disco pub in Ilkeston Derbyshire.
When I was low on funds it would be Hardy & Hansons mild at 19p.
1shilling and 10 pence, Brew 10, Vikings Goole, Nov 1970, iirc it was Saturday Soul Night.

However, I do remember the price of beer in the pub that I worked in circa 1990:
£0.78 pint of mild
£0.82 pint of bitter
£1.05 pint of Guinness
The Cosy Inn, Graiguenamanagh, during a school trip when I was 14 or 15 (and probably looked about 11). Absolutely no idea what the price of a pint of Guinness was then.
In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.
14 year old, 1972/3, Douglas bar in Dunfermline, 14p I think for a pint of heavy. Still drink in there but it’s had several names/owners, still a proper beer pub.
House draught lager at an Enlisted Man's Club at Camp Pendletion (USMC) California in June of 1966.

Not a pint - but my first beer purchase was two bottles of Holsten Pills in the Coach and Eight in Durham City Centre.
£2 each I seem to remember - which was a lot back then - a pint of bitter will have been around £1.40ish. I ventured up to the Colpits and the Angel after that, where the beer was much cheaper - and the pubs more fun....
