    G-Shock enters the abyssal zone...

You may have seen Casio's real-world depth test of their cheapest G-Shock, the DW-5600:

    Quite impressive stuff.

Then this gentleman decided to use his pressure chamber capable of creating over 6000psi (or 400ATM / 4000m - the "abyssal zone") of pressure on another G-shock, the GA-2100, both stock and oil-filled:

I was surprised at how well the un-modified one performed.

Impressive! I needn't be too concerned washing up with mine😁
    It's a great watch.

Should be okay for the deep end of the local pool then.

Great stuff, though at 7:37 he states that "this is the first time a hydro-modded watch has seen this type of extreme pressure before", but:

That's a great thread! Although I think that one "only" went to just under 1000m. The G's in the original post go properly deep

Interesting! I hadn't thought about the pressure depressing the pushers before. That non-oil filled did pretty well, didn't it?

I don’t understand how the pushers can operate at the surface?

Interesting point, hadn't thought of that. I suppose there must be enough flex in the case to accommodate the slight pressure.

I hadn't thought about that either but it seems so obvious now.
Really enjoyed those vids. And now I want a G!
