Watch owned the longest from new.

I was checking through my papers as someone asked me how old one of my watches was. I was surprised to find I had bought it from new on 7th March 2006. I'd forgotten how long ago that was. So that makes it 18 years old. Had two services in that period as I don't wear it consistently. It is keeping good time, runs a little fast which is the way I like it. It is my 5146J

5146J bought for £15,200 in 2006, now discontinued model.

What's your's - bought from new and still own??

I have a 116710LN that I purchased in July 2007. I picked it up only a couple of months after the model was released at Basel. I understand that the first batch of 50 were released by Rolex for sale in the UK. My watch is from that batch, as denoted from it having the old style guarantee paper and booklets. The card style guarantee came into use later that year. It has been serviced once in December 2018 by the RSC in London. Nice watch at the £3420 I paid…..but not worth the astonishing prices people are paying today for the very similar (except movement and minor cosmetic changes) red/blue and blue bezel versions.

I bought a white-dialled Longines Admiral from the Laings branch at 50 Gordon St., Glasgow (it's no longer there) on the 30th of December 1993. It was £400 in the sale, reduced from £550.

I know this because I've still got the receipt, box, documents & carrier-bag (which is slightly the worse for wear). I was wearing the watch last week for a couple of days. It lost about 12 seconds in two days.

    It looks like this -

    Here’s my two oldest watches:

The Hopalong Cassidy was a birthday present from my Grandpa for either my seventh or eighth birthday - l’m 62 now.

The Breitling Colt Junior I bought new 7th January 1995. It was my first premium brand watch, bought for £500. Was my daily wearer for a long time. Disappointed the hell out of me when it went back to Breitling for a service, battery reseal when they insisted on changing the hands and it came back with Luminova - s they don’t match the dial any longer

    Oldest watch from new

My 16610 Sub bought new in 1990 from Hettich Jewellers in Jersey for about £1150.00.
I had the bracelet replaced late last year and passed it on to my son who is turning into a watch monster, he’s now eyeing up my Deepsea!

I started diving lessons in 1984, for my birthday my folks bought me a 16800, still got it and all the bits and bobs though rarely wear it.

Yesterday I’d have said 4 months, but just sold the only watch that I’d bought new that remained in the collection. Rest are all pre owned. Have my dads Timex from 1984 but that doesn’t really count here.

This one was my first significant watch. Only 2019 so it's a baby compared to most on this thread, but in my defence the majority of watches on the thread are older than I am.

I still have my longines presence, an engagement present from my now ex wife in 1987. The miserable biatch wouldn't stump up for the submariner I wanted! No longer working after a girlfriend washed my bathrobe with it in the pocket.
Still working is my original tag F1, a gift from ex #2, this one from 1995. I wore this one to death for years, but it feels really small now at 34mm.
The longest owned that I still wear on occasions is my TT Cartier chronoflex, bought by my good self this time, from 1997. Very dressy but wear it when I have to attend work.

Well, I've got a Sekonda handwound that I bought nearly 35 years ago, but I don't wear it and it keeps lousy time, so I don't think that counts!

More seriously, I bought this Oris Miles new in December 2005, so 18 years and change:

Very same here - bought one of the first ceramic GMT’s into the UK with the punched papers and old style booklets.
Oldest one bought from new would be, I think, the Sea-Dweller bought in 1999 or 2000 iirc.

A Sekonda quartz bought in 1997 on a flight to Gambia. I haven't worn it in years as it's quite small and a Sekonda quartz.

I'm pretty sure there's the head of a cheap Casio digital kicking around in one of my toolboxes. Bought circa 1984. That's the best I can do :(

Very nice, I had the black dial version. I think I paid about £400 as well, in 1999-ish.

Other than a couple of couple of < £50 Casio and Citizen beaters bought relatively recently, the only "nice" watch I've bought new is my Rolex GMT-Master II, which I picked up late 2003, back when the wait time was a couple of months and the price for something that'll last me the rest of my life was pretty reasonable, even to me in my mid-20s. I wore everywhere for 15 years before I found this place and more watches got added to the rotation:

Seiko SQ I bought new in 1979 for I believe £30.

Mine's the white dial on the right my late Dad's on the left. We bought them at the same time.

I don't buy brand new all that often, but it would be this Seiko. It's a non runner but this was the first decent watch I got. Early 80's

Not exactly high brow, but this has been with me some years, and it's seen about 200 watches come and go.

Changed the battery a couple of months back as it had got tired. Once fitted, I just left it in the box. The next day it had self corrected.

    Perfect watch!

Love it - peak '90s styling. It's giving me a strange sense of nostalgia, even though the '90s somehow also feel like yesterday. Good times.

I have a Seiko titanium perceptual calendrer from when I was 18, which was 23 years ago. The battery has died and never got around to putting a new one in as I stopped wearing it when I got my first nice watch, but wont ever get rid of it. The wife was tempted to start wearing it as it is small and still a clean nice design.

Recently my defy 21 will be around 4-5 years old at this point.
