Im almost done with this watch lark having not purchased anything mechanical for over 2 years, the purchase of the Apple Watch Ultra saw me grabbing for that most weekends and so over the last 6 months or so sold off my Omega and Breitling as they never got worn.
My watch obsession has worn off on the wife to a point where she has more interest than me and is generally trawling the dealer site for her next watch.
Shes been going on at me for a while to get another watch (probably gives her scope to increase the price of what shes after)
Over the past few weeks been doing the normal internet search thing, dealer visits etc and literally nothing has interested me other than some of the GS range.
It wont be an everyday watch and will more than likely get pulled from its box for high days and holidays and so thinking more classic dressy style, something a bit different, not some 45mm colossus.
Im looking at this limited edition one in Goldsmiths https://www.goldsmiths.co.uk/Grand-S...335/p/18400536. But was wondering what others have got on the forum.

What I've learned about GS in the relatively short time that I've known the brand is the subtleties. Some of the dials for instance are incredible yet don't show very well on forum photos. Photos do give a general idea of an overall design that might be available but imo the only way to judge a GS watch is in person. For me, the 'White Birch' is stunning.

True but I would say more so with GS. It's not necessarily just on the wrist, it might simply be looking at them on a display stand. As an example there was (and might still be?) a GS 'Shunbun' in sales corner that is a beautiful watch in the flesh but doesn't look anywhere near the same in photos. I think it's because the GS dials are often so subtley textured that the light reflects a different way in photos to how you view it in person. Few, if any, other watch companies offer such artistic (if that's the right word?) dials. The problem is that they're getting so good at it and there's so many different ones that they seem to be running out of decent descriptions to go with them.
My only GS, originally came on a bracelet, and a very one too but feel that a dress watch should be on leather.

I briefly had the Asakage edition and lived the watch but it has some weird bubbles under the crystal. I would get another.
The exact same thought as myself, seen a few lately that has peaked my interest in moving GS further the list of what should be added and this thread could help with that decision.

i also find that GS seem to have some of the best looking dials out there, it's easier to see them in the metal now WoS have started to carry the brand. im always a bit put off by reports that the bracelets are a let down if youre used to rolex/tudor

9F86 Quartz accurate to within 5s per year! I bought it new from CW Sellors 4 years ago, and it has had one battery change to date.
It's technically a blue dial but is almost black.
A very wearable 39mm.

Congratulations on succeeding in photographing it, an almost impossible task I’ve found!
The blue dial is properly lovely, as with all GS, ever so different depending on the lighting conditions.
The standard 9F86 is officially +/- 10s per year, although every report I’ve seen they do a lot better. The special editions with the gold star are +/- 5s (again, usually much better)
